Baby griffons won't give golden feather

I have had my 2 baby griffons for at 1 and a half years game time and they will not give a golden feather. All my other animals and trees have given me hundreds of golden items, but my griffons refuse to. Is this a bug? I've heard others are having the same problem and don't know if this has been reported yet.

It was a bug, but was PROBABLY fixed in 1.0.3. On the main screen, make sure you have 1.0.3 installed and then give it a little while for it to drop.
