The problem with custom portraits

SO Idk if it's just me but I have tried everything to use custom portraits and to get it working, fallowed all the mods requirements and suggestions on the post page and Reddit and I just can't get it to work. Even after re-naming all the file like Lynn_Summer.png for example. I am so confused on how to fix it or even use the mod. I wish the update hadn't messed it up. Custom Portraits HD seems like it was updated for the update but idk. Am I the only one who is getting the same issue?
