Cannot craft adamite bar?

I do not see an adamite bar option in the smelter, nor do I have the option to craft adamite gear in the anvil/forge.
My friend who is playing with me does see both options.

Do you have to unlock this somehow? do you have to level a skill ?

To be more precise, I cannot see any gear above iron. My friend even sees mithral gear, i see nothing of that level.

Recipe unlocks are not shared progression, so you'll have to mine the adamantite ore in the mine to see the recipe. If you did still do that, you may need to visit each progressive level of the mine. Alternatively, it may be that recipes are tied to mining skill, in which case you may need to level up your mining skill. Also should be noted that you cannot use equipment if your mining skill isn't that high. Equipment does have skill requirements. For example: I could hop on and make you Sunite tools/armor, but you probably couldn't wear it yet since it requires lvl 50 in each respective skill. (farming, combat, mining, etc)

I did visit every level of the mine now (until lvl 20) and mined a copper, iron, gold and adamite ore... still not recipes.
I think I am just bugged. :-'(
