If you are looking for a money making guide..
Forget about the "most profitable crops", "how to make money fast" etc. guides. I actually figured the best way. It takes a bit of a setup, but with the right perks, it will also grant orbs and tickets. In fact, green beans are the incredible powerful ingredient. This is due to a game mechanic preventing crops from dieing when they are ready to harvest on the next day even though they do not normally grow in that season. Now green beans have a regrow timer of just 1 day meaning they regrow each day and according to this mechanic cannot die at all. Therefore, you can fill the whole farm with green beans, which will never run out and produce farming experience and money every day.

For highest profit, combine the green beans during planting with advanced magic fertilizer (you can add this later, only downside is that you have to regrow the plants to full stage so that only works in spring season). The advanced fertilizer will also assure that you will never need to water your crops anymore, so the only step left is harvesting (and selling). This effect could also be achieved with the slime fertilizer, which does not grant as much additional crops bonus.
Furthermore, consider the following farming skills: Tiller's Tip to increase sell prices for crops, retaining soil may help until you unlock the rain cloud or other ways to easy watering, seed maker can help stocking more green bean seeds, earthquake is not really needed since there is not much replanting to be done, you definitely want propagation for the extra crops, rain cloud for "manual" watering, fertile land when you start adding fertilizer, and expensive yield to generate orbs and tickets when harvesting. Obviously, you can combine this with totems as well. To be honest, I haven't experimented with that, so I cannot provide an optimal layout with totems included. However, at maximum, green beans seem to sell for 30 gold each, and with the advanced magic fertilizer (25 % chance to get an extra crop) and the farming skills (8 and 12 % chance to get an extra crop), that might increase to roughly 45 gold on average per plant. I'm actually not entirely sure how the effects apply, e.g. if they just stack or are evaluated individually, so making it possible to add more than one crop extra. So there might be a little room to include royal totems; oh and consider seasonal scarecrows and totems if you want to cover for seasonal pests and hazards.

Just to let you know: I did also test, if the advanced magic fertilizer reduces the regrowth time but that is not the case.. so the only crop that this is working with is green beans due to the 1 day regrow time.
