new game glitch?

i'm not sure if this has been talked about yet or not, but i've been experiencing this glitch for months now, so i figured i should say something :')

whenever i start a new game and create a new character, for some reason, it either redesigns the character i created into either the default character or one of my other save files.
if it doesn't do that, it gives me the inventory of my last save file for a different character, even though i just started the game.

i can usually fix the bug by just deleting the character, then remaking them. so it isn't a huge deal, i suppose, just a bit annoying.
but it is a little bit irritating to see that the bug is still there after all this time.

does anyone else experience this? it happens to me every time i create a new character, so i feel like i can't be the only one. but it just feels odd that such a massive bug hasn't been fixed yet.

It doesn't happen to me. Are you using any mods?

nope, i've never used any mods.
i'm gonna try reinstalling to see if that helps maybe. but otherwise it's not insanely gamebreaking since i can fix it, it's just a little. bleh. :')

Yes it happened to me. Mine was started in multiplayer so I had no way to directly delete the character. I had to go to the actual game data file and manually delete the save file. Read it somewhere they kept it that way "to prevent save issues", such a lazy solution to a big problem.
