It would be good to add. I played another farm game where you didn't butcher the animals. Pigs would just drop bacon when you patted them. It could be the same so none of the farm animals would have to die. It's unrealistic but more safe and friendly.

I agree if their main concern is being pg13 then that would be a good compromise. At the very least breeding would allow for selling of animals which would be great, but as it stands you can't make profit by selling livestock.

I like Shepherds Crossing 2 due to having all that. But most players are looking for a really idealized rural life sim, not a 'sharpen the knife to kill the chicken then cut the wood for the stove so you don't starve or freeze' kind of rural life sim.

If you like the rougher style Shepherds Crossing is really good for that, you even get entrails/scraps to feed cats and dogs and a very elaborate food crafting system where you can use everything from that sweet pig you raised and butchered from the intestines (sausages) to the blood (blood pudding).

That kind of thing doesn't really 'fit' Sun Haven thought, so I'm glad it doesn't have it.

Because this is rated E, which doesn't allow bloodthirsty content.

I mean it's not really blood thirsty. It's realistic. You guys think meat grows on trees in some magical dimension and the government trades with that worlds life forms? I also never said there had to be blood. Also stardew and story of seasons is rated E and they have breeding. So idk what that has to do with it being rated E.

In real life everyone should learn to kill and pluck a chicken in grade school. Life as an omnivorous mammal includes things like that and it's extremely weird that there are humans that think that killing and eating is a bad thing.

This has no effect on ratings: https://www.esrb.org/ratings/28023/shepherds-crossing-2-ds/

The ESRBs complains about liquor bottles, they mistakenly think you can't make and consume said liquor (you can, and that probably would change the rating), They also complain the mayor has a cigar and a comment about 'you know you're wealthy when you trip over loads of dung', which is apparently obscene to them somehow?

Anyway killing chickens and pigs is an essential part of the game they couldn't have missed (Tucica {plum wine} isn't possible to make or consume until year 2, so I don't really blame them for not noticing it). So killing animals for meat is not a problem per the ESRB.

Stardew also gets an E even with alcohol and gambling, so I don't understand why Sun Haven needs to censor the various alcohols you make. Mormon and Muslim sales possibly?

For reference, Graveyard Keeper got a 'T' rating, and it's probably because you can (but don't actually have to) do some things like cannibalism in it.
