If you like the rougher style Shepherds Crossing is really good for that, you even get entrails/scraps to feed cats and dogs and a very elaborate food crafting system where you can use everything from that sweet pig you raised and butchered from the intestines (sausages) to the blood (blood pudding).
That kind of thing doesn't really 'fit' Sun Haven thought, so I'm glad it doesn't have it.
This has no effect on ratings: https://www.esrb.org/ratings/28023/shepherds-crossing-2-ds/
The ESRBs complains about liquor bottles, they mistakenly think you can't make and consume said liquor (you can, and that probably would change the rating), They also complain the mayor has a cigar and a comment about 'you know you're wealthy when you trip over loads of dung', which is apparently obscene to them somehow?
Anyway killing chickens and pigs is an essential part of the game they couldn't have missed (Tucica {plum wine} isn't possible to make or consume until year 2, so I don't really blame them for not noticing it). So killing animals for meat is not a problem per the ESRB.
Stardew also gets an E even with alcohol and gambling, so I don't understand why Sun Haven needs to censor the various alcohols you make. Mormon and Muslim sales possibly?
For reference, Graveyard Keeper got a 'T' rating, and it's probably because you can (but don't actually have to) do some things like cannibalism in it.
