The real problem with seed makers is they are too slow at producing seeds. Let's say I'm Elven Grape farming and I plant 50 grapes a day. I do 2 5x5 squares so that its easy to hoe and water. This matches the spell Earthquake (2 casts hoes 2 5x5 squares) and then Rain Cloud which can water 2 5x5 squaes in 1 cast. Of course you need both spells. Then you plant your grape seeds and infuse each plant at a cost of 5 mana per plant - so you need 250 mana. Not unreasonable if done first thing every morning, At 25 gold per plant you are looking @ 1250 gold daily with the pluses and minus evening out. I tried this out for a year and I made 1242 gold a day. I will never do that again, but yeah. Now in this scenario the seed maker was a bust. With max skill each seed maker produced 2-4 seeds every two days. Therefor I saw 14 cycles because of there being 28 days in a month. I averaged 3.1 seeds over those cycles. It would be very easy for it to be worse because the seed maker takes 40 hours and 2 days is 48 hours, so time is lost unless you are standing by for the seed maker to finish & ready to load it for the next cycle, which is impractical. If you don't get it in 48 hours, then you get further hosed, It's a losing proposition unless you are perfect. So even if you are perfect, your one seed maker will give you about 40 seeds over a 28 day month. You need 50 for a full harvest if you are doing 50 plants. I ran 5 seed makers and got a little over 200 seeds in a month, which is enough for 4 days planting. I ended up saving ~3% being perfect during a season with a lot of aggravation loading the seed makers for the next cycle as they finished the one they were previously doing. Other seasons not so much and the worst was less than 1% savings because my seed yield was so low.
So summing it up, seed makers are only worth it on large scale farming operations or on small ones where you are willing to take the time to monitor them between cycles.
You do have to wait, but it definitely pays in the longer run.
so to best of my knowledge you would need to water crops flowers i dont think you need to when there fully grown but while there still growing i think you do need to water sorry been awhile since i last played i honestly forgot i even made this thread about seed maker an actually kinda forgot about sun haven being in my libary but i might actually go start up new save an start over again im big stardew fan and i do remember sun haven having alot similar features but also had enough that is wasnt same more magical stuff an skills it defiently had enough differences i didnt feel it was copy of stardew and stood on its own.
probally alot more has been added i didnt see as well
Thank you very much for your help, I am very grateful to you for clarifying about watering the plants
Yeah if its a regrowable plant like Coffee and Green beans, you do need to water them if you want the crop to regrow, as for flowers they grow once and your not going to harvest them so they can stay in the same Fully grown state!
well if you want flowers for looks/decoration or for honey variations you wouldnt harvest them but if you dont harvest flowers you wont get flower resource it would depend what your doing with the flower, and crops that keep producing multiple harvests like green beans an coffee you still need to water them until there fully grown. then you stop watering at least this is how it used to be when i played last, things may have changed
