is the seed maker even worth it?
just gotta say id love the seed maker if it didnt take 60 hours per seed first time i used it i put 100 wheat in there its been about week real time over 60+ hours on steam and its still making seeds maybe 20-30 so far i even tried using multiple have 6 now but by time they give me enough to bother ive already went and purchased 2-300 from store. just dont see why its in the game if its gonna be this useless and ive heard the argument well itll make store pointless ok then again why is it it the game just to be useless lol unless theres skills that could trim the time down by like 90% it still wouldnt be worth the time every seed takes 60 hours drains mana an turns 1 crop into 2 seeds so 4 days to grow in game 1 week real time to process seed another 4 days in game to turn 1 wheat into 2 wheat.

In my multiplayer save with some friends it came in handy cause no one had sugar cane seeds and we couldnt buy any either, but we needed sugar to make jams. So it is useful just in niche circumstances.

sugar cane is all season crop though so you could just buy the seeds anytime, we know what the seed maker does its the time it takes is the real issue so in a pinch it still doesnt help unless you have 2 days to wait for 1 seed possibly 2 with the right skills but not sure what you mean couldnt buy any ive only played solo so not sure if its different in multiplayer but the general store sells sugar cane seeds sorry im just not understanding how the seed maker would help given the time it takes to produce unless you have days to wait but if you needed sugar and have sugar cane could you not just make it into sugar? instead of the days it takes to turn to seed then plant an grow then produce into sugar. like i mentioned though im aware of what the seed maker can do, it takes crops and turns into seeds i just dont see how it makes sense to take a crop say 100 wheat and try an turn that into seeds even with 20 seed makers youll be waiting forever even with the 1/3 time cut in last update its still doing same stack wheat i put in have another doing grapes each day i look its gone up 1-2 seeds maybe last i checked it was 22 after playing for a week and just letting it run while i go and buy seeds also have to think if you plant crop that takes 10 days to grow and you plant say 50 to turn that 50 into seeds and grow again would take weeks i can see it being some what useful if you use it in the back ground an forget about it an dont need the money from the crop and dont mind waiting and use multiple seed makers or take the 1 seed every 40 hours an plant 1 seed but personally if a crop is gonna take 6days 10 days im not planting just 1 or if its a seasonal crop that only grows in fall are you gonna have the time to turn to seed probally not more then few seeds

Personally I don't use it (much). It takes too dang long for me. By the time the seeds are done, the season's over. I just buy more. Whatever extra crops I have, if I don't need them then I place them in the seed maker. I had to make 6 seed makers and distribute the harvests in them evenly to reduce the time but even then, I just buy more seeds so that I don't waste time :/

^This. It really comes down to time, aggravation and profit obtained from the effort. Normal regular farming is simply not worth it nor is the seed maker unless you dedicate yourself to farming on a massive scale and that is all you do. The prime reason is the lack of a sustainable and efficient automated process that does not require your presence and direct involvement every day. As a result, farming for most players is a very small operation, usually temporary because you need x for some reason. You are generally not farming just to farm and get rich off it. Even Elven grape farming is meh. Your profit is around 17% and it takes constant daily involvement.

The real problem with seed makers is they are too slow at producing seeds. Let's say I'm Elven Grape farming and I plant 50 grapes a day. I do 2 5x5 squares so that its easy to hoe and water. This matches the spell Earthquake (2 casts hoes 2 5x5 squares) and then Rain Cloud which can water 2 5x5 squaes in 1 cast. Of course you need both spells. Then you plant your grape seeds and infuse each plant at a cost of 5 mana per plant - so you need 250 mana. Not unreasonable if done first thing every morning, At 25 gold per plant you are looking @ 1250 gold daily with the pluses and minus evening out. I tried this out for a year and I made 1242 gold a day. I will never do that again, but yeah. Now in this scenario the seed maker was a bust. With max skill each seed maker produced 2-4 seeds every two days. Therefor I saw 14 cycles because of there being 28 days in a month. I averaged 3.1 seeds over those cycles. It would be very easy for it to be worse because the seed maker takes 40 hours and 2 days is 48 hours, so time is lost unless you are standing by for the seed maker to finish & ready to load it for the next cycle, which is impractical. If you don't get it in 48 hours, then you get further hosed, It's a losing proposition unless you are perfect. So even if you are perfect, your one seed maker will give you about 40 seeds over a 28 day month. You need 50 for a full harvest if you are doing 50 plants. I ran 5 seed makers and got a little over 200 seeds in a month, which is enough for 4 days planting. I ended up saving ~3% being perfect during a season with a lot of aggravation loading the seed makers for the next cycle as they finished the one they were previously doing. Other seasons not so much and the worst was less than 1% savings because my seed yield was so low.

So summing it up, seed makers are only worth it on large scale farming operations or on small ones where you are willing to take the time to monitor them between cycles.

So as of the newest update, it seems like we can no longer make tree saplings from the seed maker(booooo). It will still process ones that are queued up but the recipes are no longer present, at least not that I can find.
So really not sure if the seed maker is worth it, unless it is for very pricey items, but even then probably not.
There's a mod that adds that back in.

I'm playing the long game with the seed makers. Have 12 running and churning out expensive crop seeds. The turnaround on seeds may not always make it for that season, but that's what a seeds chest is for.

You do have to wait, but it definitely pays in the longer run.

I bought another house from the town hall just to put a lot of seed maker. If you make like 10 or more of seed makers, it's worth it. It also sometimes produce double amount if you mastered a certain skill.

Few days of intensive gameplay later: the profit I'm making from running 12 seed makers now that I've reached year 2 is remarkable. I rarely buy seeds, so all the gold I would have invested into those stays in pocket, and my crop drops into seed makers increases the number of crops progressively (I do have level 3 in the seed maker skill).

Hello, I grew coffee in a sunny haven, the coffee bears fruit, do I need to water it, because I also grew flowers and they don’t require watering
so its been quite awhile around time i made this thread on seed maker but from what i remember i might be wrong but i think if you miss watering it doesnt grow that day so it will take longer again im not 100% sure the game is alot like stardew so i could be thinking of how it worked there crops would only wither or die if the season changed an it was out of season or with sun haven they had seasonal pests or something but could be protected with scarecrows.

so to best of my knowledge you would need to water crops flowers i dont think you need to when there fully grown but while there still growing i think you do need to water sorry been awhile since i last played i honestly forgot i even made this thread about seed maker an actually kinda forgot about sun haven being in my libary but i might actually go start up new save an start over again im big stardew fan and i do remember sun haven having alot similar features but also had enough that is wasnt same more magical stuff an skills it defiently had enough differences i didnt feel it was copy of stardew and stood on its own.

probally alot more has been added i didnt see as well

Yeah if its a regrowable plant like Coffee and Green beans, you do need to water them if you want the crop to regrow, as for flowers they grow once and your not going to harvest them so they can stay in the same Fully grown state!

well if you want flowers for looks/decoration or for honey variations you wouldnt harvest them but if you dont harvest flowers you wont get flower resource it would depend what your doing with the flower, and crops that keep producing multiple harvests like green beans an coffee you still need to water them until there fully grown. then you stop watering at least this is how it used to be when i played last, things may have changed
