In the very beginning in a save you don't have much money, the shops in Sun Haven need to be repaired (6000 gold total plus some materials) or access to other town's shops, but you can unlock everything pretty fast, I'd say in summer you should reasonably have everything unlocked if you push in that direction.
You may feel that there are not much, because the game circulates both deco items and clothing randomly, instead of being always available (like DLCs), if you don't have patience and hate going to shop every day to check what is in rotation untill you get what you want.
A lot of deco items and furniture can be crafted at crafting stations. Other towns have their crafting stations too (with more decorations and furniture, themed after the town).
Clothing as far as I know you have to buy, most of them is not craftable.
(And there are more clothes in base game that character creation shows - that is what prompted me to buy my first DLCs as soon I finished intro - I thought that that is it, the all clothing the basegame will give me - but no, there are a lot of clothing shops with tons of options, I was just impatient.)
Most DLCs have themes unrelated to anything ingame, just some random cute or "spooky" stuff.
I heard people complaining about latest update (sea themed) and the sea themed DLC dropped at the same time, but the sea doesn't have anything about it, no farm, no apartment, nothing to decorate, and this sea themed items look out of place on land.
(I've bought sea themed DLC for the diving suit, but ended up not using this cosmetic too because you are given magical thingie to breathe underwater, and diving suit feels redundant.)
Thank you!
