How is this related to your problem?
>cleared everything,
cleared what? your throat?
>disabled all the firewalls,
how much do you have and why are you disabling them. you should only have one; the windows defender one, unless using a paid business solution; if so reach out to your Administrator.
>compatibility mode,
why, theres no need to do so, this is a modern Unity Game. Comp Mode will only help for very old software.
>admin uninstall steam
Also why? Its just a toolkit to manage Licening, Downloads and Socialing.
tbh.:
(higher end)<-means nothing
>laptop
In order to play "any" demanding game, as long as it need more Power than Solitaire, you have to make sure Windows is setup to use your dGPU instead of the iGPU.
It's also worth noting that even if you're using a high-end laptop, Windows may prioritize your iGPU over the dGPU when you're not plugged into power or while you're low on battery.
HowTO:
on a per App base:
Click the Windows Start Menu
Type "graphics settings".
Under the Graphics performance preference section the graphics processor can be assigned to specific applications.
If Nvidia:
Open the NVIDIA* Control Panel.
Under 3D Settings select Manage 3D Settings.
Click the Program Settings tab
Select the program you want to choose a graphics card for from the drop-down list.
Select the preferred graphics processor in the drop-down list. If you want to use the integrated graphics card, select Integrated Graphics.
> I have been having problems with Steam not playing titles too
should be fixed with the above settings. just make sure to use performancemode/dGPU. also you may want to lower the resolution of the desired game, avoid "Fullscreen Mode"
