Chicken coop stacking?

"Chickens inside the coop have a 25% chance to yield an extra egg, this effect stacks up to 4 times"

I'm a little confused if the stack is for 4 chickens inside the coop or having 4 coops regardless of how many chickens you have, does anyone know which one it is? thanks
