Need help dating Donovan

I am trying to date Donovan and now I'm always getting the dialogue where he's basically like "I can tell you're staring at my dog parts, just ask if you're curious" (not exact words) but it only tells me I can gift or say bye. I did google and it said I was supposed to get a text prompt where I do ask. Is there any way I could fix this bug?? I might post this in the bug reports too.
