Elven steel ore

Why on earth is the ore made to be such a pain in the ass????? Not only do you have to grind for keys in the normal mine you then go talk to the stupid tree guy just to unlock a mini level (three different keys with sunite being the largest map area) THEN mine for the shards 75= one elven steel ore to THEN go back to your normal smelter to craft into bars. It is confounding how the game has so many quality of life gems to also have equally pain in the ass things like this that just make me want to toss the game out. I have not done much with the demons area yet but I am dreading to see what BS it may have if the elves are like this.

I near about died when I looked at what it took to smelt and make stuff in the elven area. That said my friend was trying to get started at the demon place. Thanks to her I said forget it to the elven stuff and we jumped to demon stuff instead.
Once you can get the special mining potions for Withgate (sold outside their mine and of which there is no comparable Nel'Vari version) you can farm their mine way easier. Save up for the special pickaxe and you are set.
Even better you aren't making keys. You buy your access with tickets.

There is a similar area to the train station a couple screens before the entrance of the Nel'vari mines, i dont think they have a specific mining potion there but they do sell a special pickaxe.

Thanks for the heads up but I did find it. While there is a pickaxe the mining potion in WIthergate makes farming those mines far less of a chore. Plus if you make it out it out to Withergate anything there exceeds what the Nel'Vari stuff can do. At least that was my experience. Maybe others will have more luck utilizing Nel'Vari mines and gear.

If you actually look at the armor closely, it's the crossbow armor, as you might expect of the elven area, so if you're doing melee or magic get the one bar for your museum and move on, but that +damage gets crazy when you're firing shots 3 at a time at max speed
