I get that if I miss the date, but most of them haven't even had one pop up. Jun's I missed, but Claude, for example, I'm very confident has not had a date option pop up.
More info on the Jun Date incase this helps anyone or they can help me: I talked to Jun while going about my day and he invited me to go on a date with him. I agreed and got the quest in my quest log. I think he said to meet at his house at 10 am? but i no longer remember and didnt bother to fully commit it to memory or write it down because it WAS in my quest log. I finished up my day and went to bed, and woke up. Then I decided to take a break from the game to go start making dinner (IRL) and i exited the game thru the menu/settings menu and then closed the game. I booted that save file earlier today. I couldn't remember where or when to meet Jun so I was checking the quest log but the quest was no longer there. Its like 8 am in game. So I decided to just go to Jun's house and wait there and see if it would still trigger the date event, but nothing happened.
I ended up alt-f4-ing the game after that since i wasnt sure how i wanted to move forward after that. I'm trying to decided if I should just restart a new save or I've read of a memory loss potion? (Which i think is a really lame way to deal with missing date events but idk the history of the development of the game. Maybe there is a very good, specific reason the devs decided to do it this way?)
What happened was I was befriending mainly Claude and Catherine at about the same time, but I was gaining more hearts with Claude. I got the first letter from both of them. And Claude let me go to his house. But then Catherine gave me her keepsake charm item and I got to ask her out. This was around the 5 heart level for her. I was confused why Claude's date hadn't unlocked when he was higher level, but I kept giving him presents. I thought maybe he was harder to romance given he isn't sociable.
By the time he was at 8-9 hearts, Claude had sent me letters with a record gift and a piano gift but still no date. Then I found his special keepsake gift, the spare house keys, in the town hall to be purchased. I didn't get it, how did I miss this gift? And I wondered if maybe I HAD to have the spare keys to unlock dates. I hit 10 hearts with him and decided to buy the keys even though it was expensive. The next day I talked to him and FINALLY got the first date.
But then after the date I talked to him and he GIFTED me the spare keys?! So now I have 2 of them and I'm not sure if my theory that I needed the keys gift to trigger the date is correct or not.

Thanks for the suggestion! Mods might be the solution for some of my more critical QOL issues for now.
So I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think you can accidentally bug the dates if you ask the NPC to be in a relationship with you BEFORE the date quests have triggered, or if you've progressed with heart levels too fast - specifically, getting to 10 hearts before you've accepted the 1st date quest at 4 hearts.
The problem is, I don't specifically know when the date quests trigger. I know it's at 4 and 10 hearts respectively, but the quests themselves are not always necessarily available immediately after reaching those levels. If you increase the heart levels too fast and you get to 10 hearts before doing the first date quest, then the quest will no longer appear. Consequently, the second date also will not trigger because you never did the first date, which is a prerequisite to the second.
