Off topic review activity?

Oh yeah I noticed that too. It was when they announced they made a second game while they were working on sun haven, and people were rightfully upset that such a small studio decided to release a new, completely different game when they hadn't even finished the first one.

If they had been working on it on the side that wouldn't have bothered anyone I think but the fact that they announced and then released it before sun haven was such an awful move, and the reviews after that announcement reflect that. I don't know why they're labeled as off topic though since they were talking about the devs and sun haven?

Pretty sure my own review got flagged since I made it at that time too expressing my disappointment with the devs, which in my opinion is a pretty important thing to consider when buying an early access game: can you trust the people making it?

The release of their other game, "Sun Down".

There was a wave of negative reviews complaining that the devs released another game before finishing this one. The devs marked those reviews as "off-topic" and then rushed 1.0 release here (the game went from 0.8 to 1.0 in seven days just to mark it out as "released" already).

Just add it to the pile of scummy behaviour for those devs. The more you dig, the more this is a typical kickstarter disaster backed by a lot of people with sunken cost.

I'm even more disappointed but not surprised. Amazing.

I can't believe they even went as far to mark those reviews as off-topic. There's not a way to warn people than the reviews and threads in here. People should have all the sides before choosing to buy. And if your studio have red flags, that affects the game, their future, and the state of it. It shouldn't be considered off-topic tbh. I don't thnk all of those reviews were plain "the game is bad because they released Sun Down"

The game isn't even well finished as it is, due to a lot of bugs not getting fixed, or the poor care they put into 1.0 (the quality fish perks still on the tree but no quality fish)

This studio is so banned for me from future investments in kickstarter or purchases.

Tbf Sun Down is a Bullet Heaven, a genre that in general does not take a lot of effort to develop and release, considering the extremely simple gameplay loop and focus on casual play and replayability hence the very low cost, and the game seem to use like 99% of Sun Haven assets, so i truly don't believe they had to migrate many resources from Sun Haven to develop that one. I think its only a side project to make some budget.
