Item border colors

What do they mean?? Like, the star fish is blue but blue gill is white....is it rarity? carftable? I'm not sure 'cuse so far all items of the same name I've found have all been the same color (all shells blue, blue gills white, etc.)

This is something I'm trying to find out as well! My best uneducated guess so far....is that blue borders indicate that the item is still missing from the museum, though. I will be testing this theory later and will try to remember to come back and let you know.

It's the rarity.

Light gray = common
Green = uncommon
Blue = rare
Purple = epic
Gold = legendary

Blue means rare.

Museum items found are rare which is why they're blue
