What do I need to remove the big trees and rocks in my farm?

Basically as the title says. I am enjoying this game a lot, but I would love to know what material or what other conditions I need to fulfill to remove all the huge clutter in my farm. I beelined Iron hoping that would do it, much to my annoyance when it did not suffice.

Can anyone who knows tell me?

Adamant tools will remove them. The level after Iron.

Not sure why you felt the need to use an "!" as though to emphasize that it should have been obvious. I read their entire patch notes and didn't know either until I tried every tool (up to adamant).

Also, OP - it takes ~20 swings of an adamant ax to fell a hardwood tree (if you have the damage skills from exploration)

Yeah, have to grind out adamantite tools before you can really build your farm. Can get it done during the first Spring season, though.
