The art style is Anime af....
Does this game fix that?
I mean that's a fact . Anyone who disputes with you lacks taste
Yes this game has fantasy, like 8 races you can play as. Magic spells for combat and farming/mining.
3 towns. The human town you start in. The Elven town and the Demon town. You will get a farm in each location that has specialized crops that grow only in those locations.
So, as someone who was looking for a good farming sim, but found Stardew too mundane, would I like this? It's to Rune Factory what Stardew was to Harvest Moon?
Actually, my sister is a big Rune Factory fangirl, I should ask her advice.
So I can only give you my opinion on it. As i havent played very many farming sims.
I enjoy stardew valley a lot. However, it is very mundane (as you mentioned) and i like things with more excitement. I tend to play stardew valley when im tired, and want to do something mind numbing, that requires very little focus or reaction time. My game of choice is more akin to vermintide 2, battlefield, and other fast paced games that have a lot of excitement and require fast reaction times. My wife and I typically struggle to find middle ground, as she likes slow relaxing games (deep rock galactic is a fast paced, exciting in her book). Sun haven is a good middle ground. if I were to rate it on a scale of 10 for being exciting, i would give it a 4/10, with stardew valley being a 1/10, legend of zelda ocarina of time and fire emblem games being a 6/10, battlefield 5 being a 9/10, and doom being 10/10.
its a fun game, and i would recommend it to my friends if they were looking for a story game with a decent life sim aspect.
as to answer your question if i would recommend it as a farming sim, probably not. in my opinion its farming aspects are a little dull. dont get me wrong, sun haven has an extensive amount of things you can craft and farm. however, its farming aspect, like harvest moon's, feels tedious to me (which was the main reason i liked stardew valley, as for some reason it didnt feel tedious to farm lol). I play it for a combination of the questing, relationship sim aspects, and the combat (which isnt as good as say crosscode, but is still pretty fun).
I know this doesnt necessarily answer your question in full, but i hope it does help give you some insight as to whether or not the game may be worth looking into further.
