Suggestion: Make museum easier to donate
It's a great addition but it's absolutely painful to manually look for each altar to deposit each category of item.

Make the museum clerk check your inventory and gather all possible item donations and deposit them into their respective altars, it will make it so much easier. Animal crossing has been doing that since the beginning, there's no reason this shouldn't be implemented here as well.

I second this. I am used to Stardew so was thrown off at first when the guy at the main desk didnt want my stuff.

In Stardew, you manually place items in the museum....

Agree. I'd also like some indication on non-artifact items that you could donate them on their tooltips when they're in your inventory. Or some way of keeping track that isn't dependent on you being inside the museum and checking manually. :whitepopo:

kind of, you still talk to the front desk then it lets you select a spot

I came here hoping to find an easier way to donate. I also wish we could just walk up to the front desk and hand things over! It's time consuming to go to each display and check if I have something.

Honestly I wouldn't mind doing that so much if they'd make it so that time pauses in the museum, or even just in the rooms. I don't mind spending the irl time on it, but it takes up a lot of in-game time.

Also, why is the musuem not visible on the map? Or in the list of houses/places on the right side of the map? For a while i thought the museum was in another town until i randomly walked into the right building.....

Also... do we really need a musuem? I kinda feel it's just a timewaster and adds nothing to the game.... Just my 2 cents on it...

Running around the museum trying to find the right spot to donate something is such a pain omg, no idea why they didn't go with something like what you suggested. In animal crossing you just hand stuff over to donate, and in stardew it's basically the same thing except you can choose where to put the stuff down. But even then it's done on one screen and you don't have to run around for 5 real life minutes trying to figure out what goes were!

How do you even give your stuff to the museum?

Go upstairs and there's three doors, each with a different theme. Inside are displays (tanks for the aquarium) arranged in bundles. Interact with them to add items to the bundles. It's a bit like the community center bundles in Stardew.

I'm checking other suggestions to see if there is a better place to post this, but I was thinking that is you have pause during dialog, it should pause any time you cannot see the clock. For example dialog, mailbox, opening a chest, when crafting, when donating to the museum, buying from a shop and I am sure I have missed other examples. If you cannot see the clock to know time is passing, it should be paused as long as you have that option checked.

I do know that on my old character who had been building relationships up with everyone, I passed out because I was reading each new letter that had been sent with the update. I had thought that because I had the pause with dialog check that it would pause with the mailbox because that was literally dialog. Side note to that make it so we can read old letters.
Even if it wasn't all through the main desk, at least if there was a single desk in each room? I always miss something when i take a bunch of things to donate.

Also an icon telling me what can be donated and if it has would be great. So many times I get a fish or something only to realize the museum doesn't want that particular species.

Yeah agreed with everything here, especially the tag on items you've yet to donate.

I was also super confused since I'd passed the museum at one point but then couldn't find it on the map later.

I also will add to we need an easier way to donate, please. It feels like a combination of the museum and the community center bundles for Stardew (no, I'm not saying that is a negative) but having to go to EACH THING like it's the bundle in three different rooms is very tedious since you can't check things unless you're actually at the museum. There needs to be an easier way to donate and/or keep track of things.
