What is the point of having separate farms?
I'm wondering what was behind the decision to have separate farms in each area. I understand there are some differences in the farming and crafting between races, but just making 2 or more of every crafting bench and having two farms seems like an odd choice.

I first assumed through the grape quest that the Nel'Vari farming would be managed by infusing crops with mana, which made sense. But why now do I have a separate house and a separate farm with the Nel'Vari? It seems like an odd decision to me.

Does anyone else enjoy this aspect of the game or find it's necessary? Personally, I'd much rather have a single farm where I can grow all crops and craft all items without requiring duplicate buildings.

You can have a single farm. There are totems that allow you to grow the race specific crops in a different area. So you put down the say the elven town totem in Sun Haven you can grow there crops in sun haven. As far as I understand it. I have not tried it yet myself, just saw the totems in game.
the point is to waste your time and artificially inflate game time. nothing more. especially considering 1 of the playable races comes from 1 of the places, which is supposed to be a secret place, and several other playable races come from the supposed to be hostile 3rd area. it dosent even begin to make sense.

In the Discord, the lead writer said there's supposed to be a lore explanation of how Elves and Demons that live in the Great City (your canonical origin) are separate from Nel'Vari or Withergate.

Think of Dragon Age and the separation between City Elves and Dalish Elves, same species but at some point geographical and societal differences turned them into entirely separate groups.
if the "lore" isnt in the game, its non lore, and its not cannon. its just nonsense being made up. dosent matter who says it.

It is in the game. For example, the drunken elf in the tavern makes it clear that the Nel'Vari do not represent all or even most elves. Depending on the conversation options you choose, he can be (or pretend to be) rather miffed that you would mistake him for a Nel'Vari denizen.

Kitty and Catherine are evidence that individual members of "monster" species are not shunned in Sun Haven; it's the fact that they've formed a rival dragon-armed superpower that scares people.

1 guy basically calling you racist is not the "lore" you think it is. its just a guy offended that you ASSUME he speaks an elvish language because hes an elf. and "monsters" like kitty and catherine, are a far cry from the outright demons and horror movie monsters that inhabit withergate.
