MotorDaffodil64, if I am understanding the situation correctly, what is needed to resolve your stated issue is to "un-hoe" the tilled spaces. As per the hoe item description, left-mouse button will "hoe", while right-mouse button will "un-hoe." It is relatively easy to miss, and it took my wife and I a lot longer to figure out than I would like to admit.
My apologies to the OP that all I can add to the main topic of this discussion is to agree wholeheartedly with all points and suggestions raised, particularly the frustrations with the bridge and stairs not connecting to floor tiles and the "grassy rim" between tile types. The "grassy rim" between tile types is desirable in some specific designs, but a smoother transition would be more beneficial for most of my use cases. I have learned to live with the grass patches between tile types in the meantime.
Wrong you can untill a spot by right clicking with the hoe to undo a tilled spot back to grass.
I'm 60 hours into my first playthrough and am really starting to look into customizing my house, all to find out I gotta deal with the crumby wooden floor.
That said, I do wish that places with tiles were 1) untillable and 2) trees could not regrow there.
i desperately wish there was a smooth "dirt" tile. I end up hoe-ing a bunch of paths through my farm for that unpaved dirt path look. (depending, sometimes I'll leave it tilled, and sometimes i'll plant something and harvest it, giving it a flat packed earth look)
also, i really hate that there are grassy tiles that stay green grass all year round. Looks dumb when it's fall and winter and I've got green grass tiles all over, and i'm not gonna repave every season, so those are basically useless too. Not to mention, they look silly on the other farms where the grass isn't even green to start with.
