Hi there.

Just wondering if that just is serious or if there is somethign i am missing? The numbers seem pretty high...

Eh, not so bad if you have a mitheral pickaxe or the next one up. That area is also talking about brewing, and you need heavy stone and hardwood to build a keg. Heavy stone is about as difficult to dig up as sandstone. Since mining also provides, and improves, armor; you would need your mining skill fairly high anyway. The critters there are fairly tough.

I am so far on copper, with some iron things or not straigth-metal equivalents; only about 40-ish days in. Will take me some time i guess. ^^
I just did the main story parts and it was fairly easy to finish up (so far ?!?) the Elf-village.

I guess i will focus on the two mines and the eastern areas of the starter village first then.

I fished instead, but I have no idea if the quest was ok with the variants of the sandstone fish, or if it had to be 50 normal sandstone fish. I just fished until I had 50 normal ones just in case.

I just completed it using the 50 fish and it'll take both normal and rare.

The sandstone ore was the easiest for me, just running around using the vacuum spell to break everything in the quarry; I got the 250 needed in probably 2-3 minutes?
Otherwise Mithril pickaxe or better makes short work of them.
