But yeah, looking at the date of this thread and the other replies, I can see that this has been an issue for a while. So, I hope it gets fixed soon.
it drops frequently and it's capped at 60 so you're going to notice even the smallest drops.
walking around will reduce it by 5 to 10, walking through plants even more, npcs on screen even more.
by my third day, i learned that i can tell when my wood planks have finished crafting because i will lose about 10fps. the second i pick the planks up, fps is back to 60.
also sometimes fps just drops for no evident reason, even while standing still.
it's a cute game, but i would gladly take less fancy visual stuff if it meant not having to play at 45fps most of the time.
and uncapped fps....
Reduced Animation: disable ALL purely aesthetic animations, no matter what they are. from the cloud animation from the clock, to the shifting rainbows on nirvana's wings, to the sparkly doctor's building (why is that sparkly? the game uses Sparkles to tell you that you can do something with a thing. i keep trying to figure out what i'm supposed to do to the doctor's building)
i'm not counting things like walkcycles and tool use animations in "purely aesthetic" because they're actually communicating something.
Disable Shadows: frankly they look super out of place anyway because they're smooth and anti-aliased and have truesize pixels while the actual sprites uh. don't.
Disable Smooth Lighting: whether this is even possible would depend on how lighting is handled but if i can gain some frames by seeing either non-anti-aliased lighting edges; or tile-by-tile lighting steps, i'll take it.
Disable Visual Weather: weather still happens, but rain alone eats 10fps. i can deal with a weather icon on the clock telling me about the weather.
Disable Special Effects: things like those random sunbeams, which yes Consistently cause dropped frames, glowy effects
the art is beautiful and i promise the game will be much prettier without the framedrops and screen-tearing :)
