Midnight Passout

So, here I am inside my own house, organize some of my inventory, when I get notified that my character passed out at midnight, and I had to pay a $200 hospital fee. Like excuse me, but I'm in my own house. Who gave that doctor permission to barge in, take me to the hospital, and then charge me money, just cause I got a little sleepy.

So, I think making us pass out at midnight is quite silly. The hours between midnight and 6:00am do exist after all. If you feel the need to punish players for staying up late, maybe just give a debuff until they sleep. But also, why should it matter if I pass out in my own house?

The one thing I like about this game is dying or passing out isn't as nasty a punishment like in stardew where you can lose quite a bit of useful stuff you got for the day.

I don't mind the passout mechanic, but I do wish they would at least throw up a dialogue box so that if something happens you aren't X days further with no way of going back.

Can't say for certain, but depending how NPCs work the forced bedtime (not punishment) could be used to make sure events and shops and stuff are all set up for the next day.

Have you never played a farm sim before? They all have this feature. Harvest moon, stardew valley, etc....tho most of them give you longer, like 2am or so. This is a game mechanic so it has a set time to "refresh" the day and move into the next one. Yes, i agree passing out in your own home is kinda lame, but the clock literally starts flashing red at 10 o'clock giving you plenty of warning and time to make it to your bed.

The issue with this is some of these games (in specific stardew) has the feature where if you pass out in your house at 2am you do not get charged a fee. I think the original poster wanted to note a fix to this, since it would make more sense for you not to be charged by passing out in your own home.

Not pausing for chests/crafting is TERRIBLE, and yes passing out on your farm or at THE VERY LEAST your own house, should just put you in bed and/or a smaller penalty.

That being said, if you are close to midnight and need a little more time, log out and back in - you reload on your farm and at 11:00p (if it was already after 11pm). So you get an extra "hour" to get some stuff queued/planted/etc before running to bed.

I mean, geeze, I was inside my house, looking at the chest right at the foot of the bed when I "passed out". If you are *inside* your house, it should just put you in bed.
