As for passing out in your house, don't think of it as them breaking into your house. Think of it more like someone came by to check on you and found you laying face down on the floor through your window. That would freak out anyone. And if you don't respond then ya they are going to take you to the hospital.
Honestly, if they want to keep the forced pass out feature, then if you're in your house you should just be forced to go to bed. It's like 1 foot away. (Or just pause the game when we are going through our chest, so it's not an issue anyways)
Oh man, that's one of my favorite features in farming games. Though it does seem more applicable in games where you have stamina that slowly gets used up.
A lot of the rune factories also had a teleport home spell, which helped so that you didn't need to mentally calculate how much time you need to get home.
