BUILD GUIDE
The in-game tutorial is a bit lacking, but there's now an in-depth guide for building vehicles on the Wiki (thanks to Jenkins!):

https://iod.fandom.com/wiki/Build_guide

The in-game tutorial will improved eventually, but in the meantime, this guide will help anyone who wants to learn the basics (and more) of building a vehicle in the game.

Please, I think we need a Tutorial in-game. The game it's too powerful, too many combinations, keys, adapters, buttons, don't know where to start and it takes the fun out of it. I believe the end game is having fun rather than building, maybe lock out some parts of the game and make it progressive. First level just have fun with a preset of dunno, 3 vehicles.

Don't get me wrong the game is really awesome, but having it all available on the first launch it's a bit much.

Keep up the good work! :p2cube:

How do you turn your wheels? Everytime i put steering wheels on my vehicle they turn inwards or outwards together. i've tried everything i can think of but i can't get them to simply turn left or right together.....

Wheels should be the simplest thing.... why aren't they?!

They work as you'd expect when you place them (normally). Place one on the left and right side of the vehicle, and they steer correctly. If you're placing them on the forward and back side, they will not auto-place correctly, and you'll have to rotate one of them 180 degrees.

So the quick solution: If they're not turning together, rotate one of them 180 degrees. Then if they're turning the opposite of what you want, rotate BOTH of them 180 degrees again. Generally you want them to display different rotation values (one will show 0 degrees, one will show 180).

Let me know if you're still having troubles.

This is a normal 'problem' with early access games, and I don't see any reason this is any different.
The developer can spend a bunch of time making a nice tutorial that explains loads of stuff (or maybe even everything), and then the very next update after that will come changes that make some of the tutorial content out of date and either somewhat misleading, or just plain wrong. Then they either have to invest another chunk of time re-doing parts of the tutorial to reflect the new state of the game, or leave it as is and cause potentially even more confusion.
Whilst it might be nice to always have an accurate tutorial and ingame help pages for the player experience, it's also a horribly inefficient use of development time when significant changes that would require tutorial rework are coming with pretty much every major update.

Hi, Radiangames, could you please add copy and mirror tool, there is a copy tool in the game, and there is mirroring tool, but what I am asking is, Lets say i want to build a big vihicle that has 2 similar big parts, lets say 2 big hands, I want to build one hand and then copy it and paste, but the problem is when i copy it's faicng the same way, i wish there was a way to mirror turn it, so it's kida facing the other way, please tell me if there is a tool like that in the game already, i could't find it. Thank you!

Hi Pyzoman: No tool like that in the game currently. It's not a simple task, but I think I have an idea for how to make it work (code-wise) that shouldn't be too tricky. Will try it out soon.

How do you turn distract mode on? You fail to mention this EVERY TIME.

It's always on now, I thought. Just click/hold in the level when you're in a menu that turns the background white. Main menu, for example. If that doesn't work let me know.
How do you place the cab and other objects? I try while pressing p, but nothing works
