GAME RUNS TOO SLOW - TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

UPDATE (March 22, 2022): Please get version 0.111 or later! It fixes the issues with Radeon RX cards. If you are *still* having slowness, follow the steps below:

CITRIX USERS

As of October 2021, Citrix has issues with Unity games, including Instruments of Destruction. Some potential fixes:

1) OPTION 1: Uninstall Citrix, then reinstall with the following command:
CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe ADDLOCAL=ReceiverInside,ICA_Client,AM,SELFSERVICE,DesktopViewer,Flash,Vd3d,WebHelper,BrowserEngine

1a) Uninstall Citrix, and reinstall it from the Windows Store, and that version won't install the virtual display driver.

2) OPTION 2: Disable the "Citrix Virtual Bus Enumerator" in Device Manager (under System Devices). Dont forget to re-enable it when you need to use Citrix. It may also be called the "Citrix Indirect Display Adapter".

STILL SLOW?

Send your player.log file (or player file) to [e-mail]. It is located here (copy and paste this into the Windows File Explorer):

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Radiangames\Instruments

[The game's save file name is IoDPrefs.txt. The vehicle files have an .iodv extension.]

Yep, just paste it into your email and send it to [e-mail] (don't post it here).

The game runs without errors, but I don't ever seem to break 20fps even with low settings on a ryzen 7 3700x, 32gb ram and an RX 580 8gb. Most of the time it's between 10 and 20 fps from what I can tell (the steam fps counter is glitched out in game so I can't give exact numbers). tried all low settings, 1080p, it helped but only by about 5fps. I'm guessing I'm running into this issue as well? Or is there something I'm missing?

I have an RX 570 4gb and an i5-10400F. I have to put in low setting to exceed 30fps (34 fps on average in 1080p).
The game is great so I kept it (no refund), but I'm looking forward to a performance boost and optimization.

Just got an RX 570 4GB, so I'll be testing with it soon to try to figure out why it's slow. Hopefully will figure out ways to speed it up a bit.

That's good to hear. Fixed a couple loading issues that could cause it.

For Radeon users: Downloading drivers right now for my other PC. Hope to figure out what's causing slowness ASAP.

Hey, just got the game, as it looks super interesting, however, I can't even play it on low. :( My specs are Ryzen 5 2600, 16 GB RAM, RX 580 8 GB OC'd to 1400 MHz (which, as far as I understand, should allow me to comfortably run the game), however, the game barely 'moves' at all (I don't think I'm even reaching 15-20 FPS - either that, or it's moving in slow motion), making it unplayable. Tried sorting it out via various settings, however, no luck. Any idea what else I can try? Or are my specs just too low?

RX 500 and earlier Radeon cards have an issue with compute shaders. I expect to have a fix next Monday or Tuesday that will drastically increase your frame rate. Sorry for the problems but a fix is coming soon. Luke
