Fractured Online

Is the re-release any better?
I see a lot of stuff from a year or more back posted. Is this re-release any better? Did they address underlying issues? Are they correcting direction from the Gamigo launch disaster? Is there a game here, or is it truly Dead On Arrival? If so, what in the new launch still makes it DOA?

It looks better for now. We can install and enter directly through Steam. No additional launcher disaster. I think the endless tutorial has been solved too. What's left is development, optimization, balancing and gaining an audience.

It's also admirable that they are trying to revitalize the game. As it is known, there are very bad examples in the market.

Really important work is still needed on optimization. There's no lag in the game, but it heats up the PC quite a bit even on the lowest settings (2060 RTX).

In terms of gaining an audience, adding the game to Geforce Now can provide useful advertising and popularity. (Many MMOs such as Albion Online, Conan, Ark, Dayz, Elite Dangerous, Fortnite, Genshin, Guild Wars, Killing Zone, Aria, Lost Ark, Mortal Online, Runescape, PoE, .... can already be played seamlessly on Geforce Now and contribute a lot to the games. Popularity, easy access, etc.)

Ive been watching this too. Idk what all the problems were but i read that they parted ways with gamigo because of all the issues.

I'm enjoying this so far, the removal of gamigo and their additional launcher is a huge plus. Game seems more polished and runs better than it did before. Worth 20 IMO.

186 players online atm. Maybe after work day more. But for an mmo not enough

According to SteamDB, game's all-time peak was 1,515 when it first came out. So it still needs time. However we should also consider players that not playing through Steam but game's own launcher.

I played at 1st release and again now. Game itself seems about the same but without the 3rd party launcher which was a pain in the butt 1st time around.

As for the game itself I have not had any issues for a EA game like this. Not much hand holding but I enjoy learning new things. Game is a little unique to me with how you learn new skills by killing mobs that have those skills. Having fun so far not sure if it will turn into gank fest later but I don't care it's just a game. :steamhappy:

Oh also there are alot more player than what steam reports. I see people everywhere so I'd guess 1000's are online at any given time.

So, seems like not a lot changed? Not sure, seem to be hearing the removal of the Gamigo launcher is the big thing. What other differences from Gamigo days? Trying to understand if all the negative reviews are still relevant.

I think most of the negative comments are from when it was first released. Of course, it is normal that it still does not meet expectations. But I think it has potential and is currently better than Wild Terra 2.

They have new roadmap: https://fracturedmmo.com/roadmap-to-early-access/

Some changes listed here: https://fracturedmmo.com/relaunch-pretest-start-day-revealed/ and https://fracturedmmo.com/relaunch-patch-notes-more/

Way better than previous release.

It was trash and it's still trash. Trash that's way better than trash is still just trash. I mean, I'd take a dried ♥♥♥♥ over a runny ♥♥♥♥ if I had to handle it, but I'm not about to be handling ♥♥♥♥ at all unless it's life or death.

Is it an open-pvp gank fest? I've found that games with no real purpose or content just turn into sh!tshows with pvp gankers. Not really interested in another one of those.

There is only PvE world without PvP.

ya this games tight its what he said about all pve not true

all the world are pvp even the wild folk one plenty of pvping people just dont know how the game works wildfolk even kill eachother they just cant go RED or pk GOOD factions

since there are 3 factions GOOD NEUTRAL EVIL wildfolk can still go NEUTRAL and kill all other neutral players and all evil players alike EVIL just cannot PK GOOD players on the ONE PLANET of wildfolk but red can PK ANYONE on any other planet and NEUTRALS can kill eachother and reds at will without any repercussions of criminal activity only crime to kill a good player

players can change their factions at a statue in town select good neutral or evil and then go kill whoever the hell you want its a really fun game

again the GOODPLANET TERRA IS PVP AS WELL people dont understand the game are saying BS

all neutrals walking around in terra are killing eachother but GOOD people cannot

but GOOD people can be murdered at will on the human planet is the only difference
