It doesn't take place in a manor, though. It starts in an office building, and then goes on to open spaces and eventually tunnels. I wrote a review about it here, in case you want more information:

There are lots of games that take place in a house or manor, but you're right, many of them have a horror theme and the environments tend to be dark and gritty. A game that impressed me a lot recently with its beautiful and detailed environments is actually Hogwarts Legacy. It can be played without any prior knowledge of the Harry Potter universe (and actually serves as a good introduction to many of its concepts), and Hogwarts itself is huge, beautiful, and has lots of details to discover.

This is a terrible game to suggest without giving the context that it's a parody of the earlier game, The Witness. I'm not saying The Looker is a bad game - it's a fantastic game - but you really should explain to people why it exists. Otherwise it's like recommending people watch 'Scary Movie' before they've seen 'Scream'.
