Multiplayer and dispatcher mode like in real life?
This is a completely different product and production team. They have a background in developing training simulators to the industry. So the physics and dispatcher/multiplayer mode should hopefully work well, as they are basically turning a working commercial product into a consumer one, from my understanding.
I've got a lot of respect for what Derek Siddle can do. Did he program it? Did he release it? Was it done whilst he was/still is Manager of TS? Did it show up TSW? Was that why the work he managed was not released? In the end, I don't know why people are desperate for multiplayer on a train sim. With random people, I can only think of an horrible experience. Perhaps people can explain to me how it would be so pleasurable?
Multiplayer is not the main thing. Not everyone plays with multiplayer, but everyone who buys the game drives a train. And stop announcements are more important. This is something that needs to be added to the game, otherwise this project will go down a bad track.
In the end all what was released was a relay. That is what was released. Not exactly multiplayer. I'm still not sure what multiplayer adds in a random environment, where people rarely meet each other, and the potential for trolling is high. TSW's rush hour is nothing more than more unwelcome passengers blocking a path around them. I stand to be convinced though.
It is done in Unity which can handle antialiasing much better and it will play in practise much better than blurry cra from DTG. It will require a 2021 PC as well to get decent performance, but the immersion will be much better.
I hope them much luck with it as they are making real training systems for Polish Railway (PKP).
Just don't make it "casual", make it a REAL simulator and it will attract more peoples.
