So I wouldnt even compare as this game is very different at its core leaning more in to very realistic MP expiriance.
Also from what we know unlike TSW it will be moddable.
SP also does not include the signalling simulation.
There are still numerous bugs and issues as evident from the official forum.
No estimate for when we get a scenario or route editor.
At the moment the DTG sims really do have the edge (IMHO) in terms of choice of routes and motive power plus, though it surprises me to say it, professional polish and reliability.
In terms of physics and feel of driving SimRail is better, sounds are much better than in TSW. Drawback - no content at this stage. TSW has gained a lot of content for this years , 70 percent of it is broken till nowdays but anyway
Same deal with there locos, of which you ended buying 3rd. party locos from the likes of Armstrong Powerhouse, RSSLO, or VR´s (Virtual Railroads) Experline just to name a few If you wanted some Interaction with the cabin and loco for a more realistic and Immersive simulation. This also got a bit better with TSW but not by much as It was just a mimic to give you the Impresion that you were "simulating" the driver experience and there was no real In-game mechanics tied to the simulation.
Same goes for there scenery and signaling. You had to go for, again, to 3rd party scenery and the trains to go with It If you wanted true PZB and LZB simulation, for example. Again, this has gotten better but can be a freaking mess due to the poor quality control of Dovetails assets and DLC´s which as someone already mentioned are mostly broken and are port overs of there first Instalment In TSW which never got fixed, and probably never will be. Because Dovetail really dosen´t care and carrys on there bugs to there next gen of the TSW series.
TSW 3 came out In September 2022, that´s about 4 months ago. There are already 87 DLC´s of which 70-80% are broken for TWS 3, and In reallity there Is not much added to TWS 3 when compared to TSW 2. To me this Is just a greedy company, and as a simulation, It´s more simcade then anything else, and that´s why people like It.
Dovetail tried a similar stunt with FSW (Flight Sim World) which fell on It´s face, because us real flight simmers said, no way Jose. We already have better simulations, Prepare3D, X-Plane, Condor 2, and now MSFS 2020.
SimRail Is aming to be In the "real" train simulator scene as Run8 or Zusi 3 are, and that´s the way some of us would like It to be, because at last we will have another alternative to train sim, and a better one hopefully.
Why some people want SimRail to be the next (or like) TSW or TSC Is beyond me, but unfrotunatly this happens with many games, were people want the same thing they had before, a clone In other words, but with a different face.
If you want this to be another TSW, just stick with what you already have and why even bother buying SimRail In the first place? You like you´re TSW/TSC, great enjoy It, but let us enjoy our new contender In EA with all It pros and cons and let us see what It will offer. Let us enjoy the ride...
