Does anyone know if the developers have said if they plan on adding US routes and locomotives to SimRail?

Might that be a Dash-8 ? I've never heard of a Dash-6 loco. If they were around they sure didn't build too many.

Here is an info (in German) for the upcoming US route.
From St Pauls (near Minneapolis) and La Crosse.

I think they're focusing around Poland...

A US route is currently in the works, they have released a couple images regarding the route showing the location and one of the locomotives.

This is the location map they posted.

I had a look at this area and here is a map of the railway infrastructure for that location.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2943239483

My take away from this is that one route will be the Amtrak passenger run from St. Paul’s station in Minneapolis Minnesota [MSP] to La Crosse station in Wisconsin [LSE] with stops at Red Wing, Minnesota [RDW] and Winona, Minnesota [WIN] and crossing the Mississippi river near Hastings. No Info has been given at this stage regarding the Loco and passenger stock for this service.

For the freight service they released this image;

EMD SD70 ACU

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2943244603

There are many yards, industry and holding sidings in this location, so it would be like every thing we know so far and pure speculation on my part as to what they will include.

hope this helps

cheers all.

The devs should focus on that what they know good -> Poland. ZuSi (the professional version is used for training in Germany) has also no US routes.

If you want a good train simulator for USA then you should take a look on Run8.

LMAO that's completely irrelevant, it's not like we're still living in the 18th century when information outside your country is practically impossible to come by, and by the way ZuSi didn't do US routes because ZuSi was originally developed as an industrial training software for the DB lol

The dev should focus on what they are good at, namely making authentic and realistic train simulators, and are the US trains still trains? Then dev should have no problem making a simulator for them lol

The devs are making professional simulators for Polish railways, so yes, we can compare 1:1 with ZuSi.
And for making a good simulator you have to know the security (for example SiFa, PZB / Indusi, LZB, GNT, ETCS in Germany) and signaling systems nearly exactly which are different in each country / region (in US you've also differences between BNSF, UP and CSX for example). So if you can make realistic simulators for DE or PL you can't make a simulator for US automatically.

With your point "US trains are still trains" you should take a look at DTG -> making much but nothing very good.

Thanks for the replies! Really looking forward to driving the EMD SD70ACU and new route being as I used t live in MN. I have a hunch that Searchlight Simulations may be helping out......

If only the humanity reached the point where technology gets so good they will be able to hire people from another part of the planet one day.

Now seriously, I assume that any US route will be created in cooperation with local staff. SimRail is too good to be limited to Poland only and I'd definitely like to see it include other regions (though US wouldn't be on top of my list, but that's simply because I have no real life connection to their railways).
