Might that be a Dash-8 ? I've never heard of a Dash-6 loco. If they were around they sure didn't build too many.
From St Pauls (near Minneapolis) and La Crosse.

This is the location map they posted.

I had a look at this area and here is a map of the railway infrastructure for that location.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2943239483
My take away from this is that one route will be the Amtrak passenger run from St. Paul’s station in Minneapolis Minnesota [MSP] to La Crosse station in Wisconsin [LSE] with stops at Red Wing, Minnesota [RDW] and Winona, Minnesota [WIN] and crossing the Mississippi river near Hastings. No Info has been given at this stage regarding the Loco and passenger stock for this service.
For the freight service they released this image;

There are many yards, industry and holding sidings in this location, so it would be like every thing we know so far and pure speculation on my part as to what they will include.

hope this helps
cheers all.
If you want a good train simulator for USA then you should take a look on Run8.
LMAO that's completely irrelevant, it's not like we're still living in the 18th century when information outside your country is practically impossible to come by, and by the way ZuSi didn't do US routes because ZuSi was originally developed as an industrial training software for the DB lol
The dev should focus on what they are good at, namely making authentic and realistic train simulators, and are the US trains still trains? Then dev should have no problem making a simulator for them lol
And for making a good simulator you have to know the security (for example SiFa, PZB / Indusi, LZB, GNT, ETCS in Germany) and signaling systems nearly exactly which are different in each country / region (in US you've also differences between BNSF, UP and CSX for example). So if you can make realistic simulators for DE or PL you can't make a simulator for US automatically.
With your point "US trains are still trains" you should take a look at DTG -> making much but nothing very good.
Now seriously, I assume that any US route will be created in cooperation with local staff. SimRail is too good to be limited to Poland only and I'd definitely like to see it include other regions (though US wouldn't be on top of my list, but that's simply because I have no real life connection to their railways).
