I think that if the developers put Unreal engine 5 instead of archaic Unity, it would look better and it would have more fps. Check out Train Sim World, which looks better and is much smoother because it uses a better graphics engine (even its older Unreal Engine than 5.0).

TSW3 doesnt look better that Simrail and for me sim rail looks much better at night, specially tunnels, TSW3 on the other hand specially at night lightning is plain broken, you want to see a proper lightning in unreal engine 4 go and play hmmsim metro scenarios at night are just mindblow
Unreal engine 5 is a more heavy engine that UE4, it needs a more powerfull GPU as baseline, and on top of that the optimization the dev will put under the game so atm ue5 is not recomendable for small devs teams, Look at the bus, running in UE5 and runs worst that the UE4 ver...
yeah i noticed it too, something in the code changed or maybe the server was overloaded but the framepace in some areas is pretty bad, i fall from solid 60fps to mid30
Lighting in Warszawa Centralna (underground) is terrible, textures are flat looks unnatural.
Unreal 5 licence is now free til, game got 1 mil income. Lots of small developers (1-10 people) from my Steam games works on U5 as engine for next (or upgraded) games. Lots of my real friends in game industry in the UK works on U5.

you are suggesting to swtich to UE5
are you mentally ill?
I am suggesting this game is badly optimised as many other based on Unity (easy to develop, difficult to optimise), and people like YouTuber Daniddr1 and other with mid-equipment graphic card wont play it 10-20fps. Just like I didn't play this game on the previous laptop with the Nvidia 1060ti and only started playing it recently on the 3070ti laptop.
Fewer users, less cash flow, less budget and less opportunities to develop the game. Many titles on Steam here have already fallen due to such a mistake (poor optimisation), fortunately for this developer, he makes real simulators and the game is a side effect, so I think the title will be developed anyway.
Bro a Mobil GPU doesn't have the same performance as the desktop counterpart
about the optimization is much better than what was TSW1/2/3 at launch and thats a "full" product and not an EA as sim rail, SR have lots of potential
TSW3 suffers from lack of love from the devs, been there since Railworks when DTG bought the licence from Kuju hence born Railworks, DTG never cared for optimization and to this day they are still doing the same bad model business, launch a DLC without QA first and pray to gaven that they eventually fix some issue on that new route, i mean there is plenty of DLC that are still with critial bugs since TWS2020 and here we are 3 itinerations of TSW and they are still bugs from the the initial game
look what do we have to do to play TSW3 we need to high Tweak the engine ini to get better visuals or better performance and why is that? because the game sucks in optimization and the only way to run the game decently is by brute force, something is being common this days ( atomic heart relays on DLSS for optimization, mental... )
been asking for FSR and DLSS for TSW since TSW2 and they dont care, ppl been giving solutions for eliminate the tile stutter loading and they igonred it
SR just came out on EA and the game is running far better that whatever TSW offered,
performance will improve with time
I totally agree with you, I am also fed up with TSW3. Although I could tweak it to acceptable visuals (and buying a 6900xt just for that particular game because I love trains), the lack of attention to details is quite annoying, the bugs, the prices of DLCs, the quality of DLCs, etc. So I was waiting for SimRail since it was announced.
I really hope that they can have a game at release time which will turn most of the people to this game from TSW (even with Unity engine). Two things are needed.... listening to the community and implementing the software with care.

as i mentioned before one of the reasons that could have hogged the performance was on point
something in the netcode changed and caused an issue with the passanger sinking the server performance that affected everyone else who was connected to the server
so @Ricardo was not the gpu as you said, please next time refrain of giving bad information of things you dont understand
Lower the texture to half.. I have a rx580 and get 40-60fps. If texture is on full the game freezes all the time for me.. And you don't really notice the difference between full and half textures
Be sure to check your ram speed.
