Thanks for your kind words too. I really appreciate all you are doing while developing the game & for also being here with us all on the forums too.
I like the ideas you have of an animated train manager & conductors as I think you will make an excellent & enjoyable game.
I did have some other ideas that could let a player take on further guards/conductors duties:
-Lets say you are a guard on a busy commuter service so you might need to allow passengers to sit in First class even if they only hold Standard class tickets as this might ease overcrowding & allow you to walk through the train to check tickets & perform safety duties etc.
-Maybe you are in the rear cab & a passenger knocks on your door to ask for advice & help about a missed connection if your train is currently running late.
-Maybe a passenger stops you as you are checking tickets to ask if they can borrow your phone as they realised their own phone battery is flat so you could let them use your phone.
- You are checking tickets & a passenger says they have a mobile ticket but can't find it on their phone so do you allow them to travel or ask them to leave at the next station. or maybe just issue a penalty fare.
-You could be walking through your train & find a passenger with their feet on the seats so you have the discretion to ask them to move their feet to the floor to keep the seats clean.
-You could be a guard on a train transporting sports fans so you have a few tricks to keep things calm such as if the fans have been drinking you can put the heating on so they fall asleep till the final station.
-During busy times you could ask your passengers to remove bags from the seats next to them to free up seats for other passengers.
- As a guard you might need to take over a train from a colleague & also talk to other railway staff during your shift such as Drivers, Station staff, Cleaners, Transport Police etc. Or you might need to call Control for advise or assistance regarding situations on your train.
I do hope these ideas will be helpful for you & thanks again for creating your new game.
I'm enjoying hearing how things are going. So thanks for the recent DevLog Too.
Best Wishes
Alan Sation.
But I can't imagine how it would work with drivers, I mean they would have to: A) give to train drivers option to kick the passenger player if needed. B) not allow any form of communication as passenger, no chat and no voice.
It would have to be like a mini game completely disconected from the dispatcher / driver part of the game. So no matter what, it would be a gimmick for " roleplayers " that few of us would occasionaly do and thats about it.
I wouldn't be surprised if devs dropped the idea of passenger mode.
