Now do it with saving only at the start of each map, if you haven't done it that way :P Or take it one step further and add pistol starting each one as well.
I'll pass on that, lol.
Actually, I don't know how I didn't think of this. But have you played through the warp-only levels as well? And found the secret exits of E1, E3 and E4 (E4 has 2 secret exits)?
I don't remember. Was that part of Extreme, or was it a stand-alone level? Downloadable from the 3D Realms site? I probably played it and beat it.
For comparison, here's how many hours it took me to play each of the ROTT campaigns:
The Hunt Begins: 5
Dark War: 21
Extreme ROTT: 26
Return of the Triad: 12
ROTT 2013: 15
Dark War actually took me almost as long as Extreme because in DW, I spent a ton of time stuck while roaming around looking for the next switch, touch plate, or wall to move in order to progress, as well as finding all of the secret exits to all of the secret levels. I didn't really get stuck at all in THB. In Extreme I died a lot in some of the levels, but also saved a lot. I don't remember getting super lost in Extreme like I did in some of the DW levels though.
Return OTT was a great 12 hours. ROTT 2013 took me about 15 hours, and at least 3-4 of those hours were just platforming in The Room, without the ability to quicksave!
3 levels were added to extreme ROTT in this Ludicrous Edition, actually. They're maps that were released online by Joe Siegler ages ago. 2 of them aren't extreme at all, but you can still play through them just for the fun of it. But the 3rd level, You And Spray... you should definitely go back into erott and give it a try... it'll be interesting if you can beat that one.
Nice! I look forward to it.
