you mean game by Utopia Software? it was much better than Preliminary Monty, but not finished :( it was also has an event in "Bajtec" magazine from Poland, and you apologize about it, as internet said.
Game has some glitches, i used it for double things, killing almost all skulls with help of the bat in upper part of the screen, reach some impossible places e.t.c. =) i spend many hours on Atari 130 XE for this :skullboy:
i only not kill 2 skulls in dead end. they simbolyze previous dead adventurers or something other? (sorry 4 my english)

I'm also wondering if it's the utopia software one it actually wasn't that bad but I'd rather see something new because that would be very dated right now

I love 'Montezuma's Return!' (the 1998 pc version by Utopia) and have played it numerous times. It was my favorite childhood video game. Sadly, my computer cannot run the game anymore when I install it from the CD, because the game software is too dated. I would love to play it again! @robj: do you have plans to release 'Montezuma's Return!' on Steam as well? And is your comment regarding your original vision with the boss about the pc version of 'Montezuma's Return!'? I know the Gameboy Color version as well, but that was an updated version of 'Montezuma's Revenge' and not the game I mean.

i hope this time we can see a complete version of that Montezuma´s revenge game demo.
Myself and my cousin (at my insistence) were searching for this online back at the start of November, everything we tried to download didn't work. Spent hours. Not even any game discs available that I can see. Saw this post of yours and told him. Would like to play this again, developer! .'-j Put it up on Steam! :)

I didn't like the 3D version.
I would buy Montezumas 2, with 80s graphics, for sure!
I would also buy Montezumas 3, 4, 5...as long as they all have the original 80's graphics and sounds. :krskull:

I think it should be pretty easy to make new screens for a 2D sequel. That would keep the game fresh.

Hoping to see Montezuma's Return ('97-98 PC game) to make its way here on Steam someday.

I replayed it a couple of years ago and it still holds up gameplay-wise, IMO. The combat and physics are pure fun. I love simple geometry look of the levels, the texture work and sound/music in this game.

I appreciate your comments about the 90's game Montezuma's Return but that game will probably never see revival due to complications regarding legal rights. I agree it was fun and innovative, but it was not a hit. The engine was spectacular for it's time and my U.T, team have gone on to high places in the industry.

whats with the gameboy color one? it was basically and felt more of a "real sequal" to the original.
I'm waiting for it to be available on Steam. the best childhood game <3
