Thanks, I got 2 of these so i just need to find the last one, think it maybe the 7 gate i need to find it.
Thanks Again.
Take one skull of indeterminate origin. Boil it to remove any remaining tendons, flesh etc. Sharpen some of the edges of the skull face to get quite pointy.
Now ram this into your chest. You may wish to add blue LEDs and a suitable rechargeable battery pack underthe face of the skull for effect.
Now, all that remains is you to welch out on a drug deal and sacrifice your family.
Don't forget that it also helps to carry around a dingy old teddy bear too. That's a major, but simple, requirement.
But I tried it and it was bloody useless for travel. Every time I shouted at it to take me somewhere it steadfastly sat there, unresponsive and I attracted funny looks everywhere. I even offered to use it as currency for a bus fare, and they kicked me off.
Either that or I'm doing something wrong.
Anyway, time I gave a serious answer.
Without spoiling things for you OP, first do as an above poster said - google or search here for a copy of the map. It's also found in the book of shadows iirc too, so you can pull it up in game. It's a predominantly dark red looking map that seems a bit nonsensical until you start following it.
Basically as you're no doubt aware, you collect souls to reach the appropriate threshold to unlock the coffin gates. They all string together subsequently one after the other in effect (which you can see from the map). Behind the coffin gates are both new areas, but also more weapons and abilities.
When you've hit the soul power 3, you'll come across a gate immediately where you unlock the first part of L'Eclipser knife. There's two more to be collected through later stages of the game (and behind said gates). You'll be pretty high in shadow power by then (probably around shadow power 8 or so). This means once you have all three parts, warp to the church and talk to nessie and a cut scene will play where she implants the knife into you which will bring the Shadowman into the mortal realm.
You can now use your shadowgun in "liveside" and collect souls there.
Well, I had dug mine up from a relative's grave. I wonder if the smell was off-putting to people too?
The point where you get to shadow power level 7 is often a sticking point for people, partly because there's several 7 gates (3, iirc). One obviously opens a new area, another opens up the last piece of L'Eclipser (which by extension is liveside opening up too), as well as another one which I can't recall offhand (I think).
By that time you can also have missed some of the other gates at level 4 or 5 too, which contain the voodoo weaponry - that's essential for getting some of the souls.
As you've done it now, if you ever go back and replay it, I recommend using the map and taking note of how it lays out - from the top of the map, with the 0 gate, you follow a path counter-clockwise increasing in power level for every gate. You'll see where any offshoot gates are as they indicate whereabouts they are (before or after a certain power level gate).
It can't be overstated that this is perhaps the best thing you should straight - understanding this route from the 1 gate (The Prophecy Chamber) all the way to the 9 gate, as any time you get stuck it's prudent to warp to the Prophecy Chamber and just walk through the route again to see what you've missed.
After my many playthroughs over the years I will invariably miss something. Sometimes I'll miss out a whole area I've forgotten about (like the Temple of Life) and because I won't have activated the warp point, I can't see where the souls I need are missing. Ofttimes though, it's just I've missed a weapon stuck behind a gate I've forgotten and have to backtrack.
