Other recommendation people posted on which mod to also get are:
* MelonLoader on Linux & Steamdeck
* HD Audio for HD Ears
Oh dude, this port is busted beyond belief, it's a Unity Port of an old PS2 game, locked at 30FPS, with the same original compressed audio from said PS2 original.
You have to mod in:
HD Audio
Framerate Unlocker
Widescreen Videos
If you expected any QOL features? Tough tiddy, the only QOL feature we got was the ability to suspend gameplay; anything else you'll have to Mod in.
That being said though, I do think it's the best way to play the game as the one thing the remaster has that the others don't is Voice Acting, but Dante is DLC this time around.
Vanillla, you can play it with just the HD Audio but I wouldn't recommend it at all.
That being said, I don't think this is at ALL out of the ordinary for a Japanese developer/publisher, for some reason they haven't a clue how to port historically, for the most part it has gotten better, but this remaster reminds me of ♥♥♥♥♥♥' Deadly Premonition, Dark Souls 1, and Killer is Dead, back when Japanese games on PC were a bit of a rarity; back then Metal Gear Rising was one of the best Japanese games on PC; they actually gave you competent KBM controls!
Not saying it's acceptable for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ports, but just part of the course if you're predominantly on PC and you love Japanese games. (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Japan just treat us like normal consumers already)
