Dante or Raidou?

Which do you choose?
From what I've read once you start a new game with either option, there is no switching. Unless some kind of hack/mod/cheat engine type of thing can be used.

i played the original which had dante. dante in the game was hella cool but i didnt see raidou yet im this round im picking him

Same. That's a good point. I only played the US PS2 version with Dante and while he is cool, haven't experienced Raidou yet.

I really liked Dante in the PS2 version cuz of me being a DMC Babby, but him not having Pierce made him not as helpful as some of the endgame demons you can create. Now that they gave him Pierce, he will have a larger role to play for sure.

Raidou has the better attack animations though, imo.

You can switch on new game plus right? Do Raidou, beat them game, start over and choose Dante?

Even if you can't I'm going to go with Raidou since I've never experienced it before. Hopefully his story arc is as involved as Dante's.

Oh god this is the easiest question ever, I love that Dante was torn out as DLC because then I get to aggressively not buy it. I would go as far as to say, that I know the game's director was a fan of Dante and wanted him in the game, but he simply does not fit with the game's tone and the decision was a poor one.

Raidou doesn't fit much better, but, he's a Megaten character (and not a Persona one, Thank YHVH) so I'll take him.

That said I wouldn't expect to use him much because by the time you can use either, your putting together your final party and lets face it, that's DF, Metatron, Beelzebub and X, and X for me will always be Lilith.

dosin't work that way, the game is just a remastered JRPG from 2003.

-Maniax mode [DLC now]=2003 released game with dante from Devil May Cry 2 as a boss/ally/cameo.

-Chronicle mode [free]=2008 released game, Raidou, along with his black cat, replaces Dante as the Demi-fiend's potential ally.

you can only pick one mode/version, or make a seprate saves for each.

you can't port nor switch over your stuff/start a NG+ to the other version,
so chose wisely.

How can you make such an egregious argument against Dante? One of the greatest video game characters ever created and who deserves to be in Smah?! Something is clearly wrong with your head and you need to be examined immediately!

Wouldn't be the same without Dante showing up while he's huntin' demons imo.

Dante is too edgy. Raidou is boring. Guess I´ll take Virgil as soon as mod is ready from the oven lol

Dante is not edgy, but yeah it would be cool to have Vergil and Dante would be a good mold for that mod. You know just put him in Dante's place. You know that actually would be kick ass. I mean while I don't agree with your view on Dante, that mod idea is a great one!

It seems that they changed Son of Oath spell for Dante so he also have a skill that pierces! As Raidou apparently already had one. I'm gonna try Raidou myself aswell.

He is kind of edgy as he's based on his mopey ass DMC2 version.
