Dark Matter worth the reset?
So at least for the moment, I can't see anything to buy with dark matter (that might be because I haven't big banged)
The shop just says coming soon, so I have no way of knowing how much dark matter is a worthwhile amount to reset at.
Seeing as it took me a long time to get to Mercury, I don't want to push back my progress for no gain.

Prestige upgrades cover every facet of the game. Energy/Resource gain/capacity, Infra/Research Speed, Combat stats, Combat speed, Drop rate of Biomass/Cards, Engine charge speed and capacity, planet distance reduction, and probably a few others that I missed.

I prestiged for 1.5k at basically the earliest point on Mercury possible, and managed to get 10x Infra+Research speed, I've already completed most of Venus, and am currently back on the moon finishing off Resource Tank, before I go back to Venus in a few hours (max, possibly less) to finish up there. I should be back to Mercury tomorrow.

So in short, yes, it is worth it. The speed gain is phenomenal.

While I admittedly did not improve my combat capabilities much, I've turned a 20 day journey to Mercury into a 2 day journey. At the end of those 20 days, I went to Mercury without finishing Venus, my current infra/resource state is almost identical to what it was when I left for Mercury, so I've compressed 20 days into <2 days. I personally hope that the researches on Mercury are strong enough to cover for my laziness at raising combat prestiges, but if they are not, I can easily prestige again and spend the new dark matter on combat, as I am already making more Dark Matter.

If nothing else, research/infra speeds, huge boosts to fueling/traveling and boost attack... yeh, not worth it.

Dark Matter isn't something for the "coming soon" shop. It's the rebirth currency that lets you buy boosts to HP, attack power/speed, resource gain, research speed, travel speed or whatever. It's definitely worth it.

I guess I fly to the Sun before I try to reset, since I already was at mercury for months.
Btw, the tutorial said somethin like 'look below to see how your dark matter gets calculated' but there isn't anything ... so does someone know what influences how much you get? I at least hope that getting to the Sun will somehow increase it properly.

Its related to the stats page, but I don't know the exact details. I was going to fly to the sun, but tried to have a save going to the sun, and a save doing a dark matter reset at the same time. Unfortunately it seems the travel timer is not progressing offline.

Either way, I am already back to mercury (less then 24 hours) and have completed all the main upgrades, just a couple related to battle stats still not done, biomass is definitely a limiting factor currently. I had 2.3e3 dark matter, and had to force myself to spend a lot of it. really I think 1.5-2e3 is pretty comfortable if you already have a ton of progress. The initial struggles on venus and mars are so much faster when you can rush everything up before your productivity bottoms out.

Do you lose your cards on reset?
hellminister Aug 16, 2021 @ 4:48am
no, but they get locked
from what i understand you need to reacquire the card in the game to be able to use it again
Zakastra Aug 16, 2021 @ 5:07am
Oh, that's a pretty smart way of handling it
hellminister Aug 16, 2021 @ 5:08am
problematic for those really hard to get cards (those boss only drops with less than 1% chance of getting it)
Zakastra Aug 16, 2021 @ 5:17am
True, but still vastly less of a headache than having to grind another 64 of them
hellminister Aug 16, 2021 @ 5:31am
also true

I had some problems with some things re-unlocking correctly. It seemed that saving and reloading generally worked really well to fix those issues. It feels like the card system has quite a few bugs, with not being able to add cards when new permanent slots are unlocked, displays being very weird, hard to adjust card levels, etc. I had to reload save and restart the game several times immediately after the dark matter reset to push things along, but overall it worked pretty well.

I don't know that you specifically have to reacquire the card. It seems more that you have to be able to do the fight to unlock, and you may have to restart the game for it to unlock. I only have 1 space travel valuepack, but I think it re-unlocked at the same time as lightweight spaceship (or at least on that same refresh).

might also be true, i agree that at the moment theres a lot of bugs relating to UI updates following research and such, save load seems as the temporary fix for all of those

since I cannot replay the tutorials i can not confirm if that's where I read it, but didn't the game/maybe a dev post, tell us how card unlock worked. Which was to re-acquire it.

So I guess here is the next real question.
How is Dark matter calculated?
I thought that it might not unlock til Mercury, but I'm now back on Venus, about halfway through the researches there and it's now telling me big bang will give 4 DM. So is it based on resources spent?
