In-Game Chat issues

Hi, I believe my in-game chat system is glitched and, as a new player, I could use some help. I know to use tab to pick between "team," "Platoon" and "general chat." Team is in green, platoon is in yellow/orange, general chat is in white. First, is that correct?

The main problem I'm having is my chat bar is set to "team chat" and the LETTERS of my chat are in green, but my name next to the chat message is in orange/yellow. Does this mean I'm in platoon chat? Again, tabbing between chats isn't working, it just stays "team" and I can't rotate between chat modules.

Will someone please give me some advice as to what I'm doing wrong? If the chat TEXT is in green, does that mean that, even though my name which appears next to my chat is yellow/orange, I'm still using "team" chat, since the letters themselves are green?

Even then, chat won't let me switch from team, platoon, etc.

Hello.
You may have chat disabled in your settings, so you can't switch between team/platoon chats. Check this option in the general settings.
