World of Tanks is a free game, therefore the concept of whether it is "worth it" is largely inapplicable in this context, as the user is not required to make any sort of payment. Additionally, while I understand your frustration, plenty of users enjoy the game without premium vehicles. If you feel frustrated at higher tiers, it's recommended that you try playing the game at tiers 1-3, where there are significantly less premium vehicles and you may find the experience less infuriating. You could also try watching and/or reading some guides that might help you improve your positioning and gameplay which should limit the amount of times you find the game frustrating due to being one-shot or generally quickly destroyed by enemy vehicles which have not been spotted.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
