World of Tanks 14 anniversary!
Yay, WoT is celebrating its 14th anniversary!
So let’s do absolutely nothing meaningful for the players. Let’s give them some greasy, useless tank that everyone will instantly sell because it’s garbage anyway. Let’s throw in some cupcakes too! Completely useless, of course.

But what won’t we give them? A better conversion rate for Free XP? Nah. Fixing boring low-tier tanks? Nope. Making high-tier grinds less of a painful, soul-draining experience? Haha, why would we do that?

And even during the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anniversary of this “amazing” game, you still can’t be bothered to give us a simple Free XP conversion event?
That’s not even disappointing anymore, that’s straight-up mockery.

You are complaining about free gifts in a free-to-play game?! Personally, I appreciate the free premium time, free premium tanks (even if they suck you still get a free garage slot, some useless crew and a tank that you can sell for credits), 1/2 price on consumables and equipment (TIP: Spend almost ALL of your extra credits on these because, if you need more credits in the future, you can always resell them at full price) but, perhaps, it is just because I am a crusty old Boomer (63 years) that appreciates gifts, knows how to manage their in-game assets (like credits and XP) and doesn't suck at WoT.

Wargaming gave you a better exchange rate on XP conversion, which costs gold, but why would they give it to you for free? Oh, yeah, because you are an ungrateful child that expects everything to be given to them without paying -- or playing -- for it. I am a freeloading player and, personally, cannot see myself spending any real-world money on this game but still have fun playing this unfair game; yes, it is unfair but it is also FREE!
LOL, I have over 50 mega credits, and 70k gold. And if you were like me, you would have played 1.7 million exp on premiums tanks, so that you could then exchange them. You wouldn't be happy about it either :), it's just not an anniversary, give me nothing, and like anI have to wait for it again for better ex-change.

I don't even know how to say it, but a lot is learned in comparison. It's always not enough for someone, but it's enough for someone. You can't adjust to each player, can you? I am not against the fact that the WG would give more or arrange a personal survey, but it all takes time and resources. And what do you think they do in such a case? They look at statistics, data, and variables correctly, and based on this, some kind of decision is made. But don't forget that everyone wants a lot of things and more. And the minimum goal of the game is to direct players at least into pumping branches of technology, a common game where there is an incentive to get a top.
14 years - still can't learn how to make games

It's important to remember that we have 2 "anniversaries" and the launch/release in EU/NA is always much smaller than the larger event we do in August when the game celebrates its original birthday.

I want to ensure you fully understand that the event was a regional "Birthday", which is always different to the Game Anniversary. I hope this helps.
So they intentionally separated from Russia, and now the RU and EU servers are independent—each makes its own decisions and develops the game in its own direction. So why aren’t the birthday celebrations and big events held when the game was released in the EU? I really don’t understand that. But okay, I guess I understand correctly that Wargaming doesn't care about the players at all, and about the EU release date? Who cares about that. What's important is when it was released in RU. So, it's great that WG is supposedly separating into EU and RU, but we'll still celebrate the Russian release anniversary, when in Europe nobody could have even known about the game.

The EU release marks 14 years, while the game as a whole has been around for 15—especially considering many players were active during the beta and earlier phases. These are two distinct milestones. It’s a bit like celebrating your birthday versus your work anniversary—both are meaningful, but they carry different significance.

As for the rest of your comment, it seems more focused on provoking a reaction than having a constructive discussion. The reality is quite simple: we tailor the level of rewards based on the scale and importance of the event. Larger milestones generally come with more substantial giveaways.

Of course, if your preference is for no rewards at all, that’s certainly an option—but we’d like to think most players appreciate the gestures we do offer, even if they vary by occasion.

It's understandable that you might feel frustrated. Imagine playing a lot in a short period, specifically because you knew an anniversary was coming and hoped for a better exchange rate. Then, when it finally arrives, you feel like you're getting nothing.

Low-tier tanks can indeed feel incredibly unbalanced and dull to play. I actually grinded over 1.7 million free XP in a short time specifically to avoid the struggle with those tedious low tiers or stock tanks. Then, waiting months for an event with a better exchange rate, only to find out it doesn't seem to apply to this anniversary for EU players, which, as it appears, holds little significance for us.

It's quite something to have over 60,000 gold sitting in my account since Christmas, without a chance to use it for a better free XP conversion rate to skip the painful low-tier grind.

To my knowledge we had a Free XP conversion bonus event prior to the Birthday event between 04 Apr 2025 and 07 Apr 2025. We do care about the players, but do not stack events on top of each other to refrain from destroying the in-game economy.
