How do you know if you're spotted or not?
No, the 6th sense is not where I'm hinting at altho I've got a feeling that one's broken since last patch or something.
I've had so many games that I get hit by 3+ enemies from afar (>300m) and there is never a 6th sense beep. Or just a few moments ago, skooting around in my elc90, never a beep or whatsoever and a "random" shot gets me twice at full speed from the opposite corner of the map. So I was thinking I had to be spotted the whole time, but I hid behind a tank corpse in the map + bush and waited for 20 seconds, start moving and boom. Never a beep from the 6th sense. Any ideas?

Experienced players know the best places where a spotter might hide so they make a blind shot in attempt to flush them out. Sometimes they can see the shell impact the ground behind the bush or tree which tells them there is, likely, no one there. Other times, however, they hear "critical hit" or see an explosion so they know someone IS there. If others are watching them might fire at the same spot and, possibly, destroy a hidden spotter without actually detecting them.

Also note that Sixth Sense has a delay so tanks pre-aimed at the spot they think you might appear can get a shot off before it triggers.

You wont get sixth alert you get hit and then the sixth sense. Why? Because it takes 1 second and people sometimes are preaiming in your area and they will hit you the 1s you are spotted.

The thing is, it's happening while I move. And whether I'm hit or not, I never hear the beep, that's why I thought I must've been spotted all the time.

Hello! If you are playing with modifications of the game client, I advise you to make a check and run the game in “safe mode” If in this case the problem persists, I advise you to clear the cache and check the game files for integrity.
If all of the above does not help, contact support https://wargaming.net/support

Also, it should be noted that the corpses of destroyed vehicles of other players do not hide your tank from detection.

Just my opinion about one scenario where I can explain for what happened -- but out of at least two different scenarios with differing explanations for what happened; I will not get into any other scenario, with a different explanation for what happened:

Any vehicle of your team or the enemy team's, will not hide you from the view range of any other vehicle. All vehicles in the battle -- in a regular full battle, there are 15x2=30 vehicles -- are non-existent as far as view-range-and-concealment-mechanics are concerned: the view range of any vehicle passes right through any other other vehicle. So when you were hiding behind that tank corpse -- a player who died in battle already -- you were spotted all during that time you were hiding behind that tank corpse. So when you moved away from the tank corpse, they shot you, because you never ever left their view (because that tank corpse of a player in the battle that had already died, did not block an enemy's view range from you all that time you were behind it).
