Not for Serious players anymore
Was going to leave a review, but because I havent played this game on Steam, it wont let me so Im posting it here.
I have 12 years into this game.....
This game used to be fun. It used to be team orientated, used to.
So this game used to be strictly based on TEAM play because well, its 15 on 15. PVP at its core.
The game now supports single minded play and doesn't care, nor even supports winning as a team. You have a gazillion things to accomplish as a single player, but nothing as a group. This destroyed the game for me. The game only caters to dumb people with money. Easily offended, GREAT this game is for you. Just drive around to get your participation trophy, and report anyone who you piss off along the way as they will generously ban people for conduct unbecoming of a snowflake.
The game has become a money grab and nothing more. They actually have 3, yes 3 levels of premium for you to pay to win.
1: WoT premium. Cost you about 15 a month unless you buy in bulk.
2: WoT plus. Cost 9 dollars a month for more stuff.
3: The monthly Chapter march. Like all games you can pay even MORE money to get extra crap every time you go up the chapter tree.
The game was EPIC before all this was implemented. now its just tainted with personal occupation and agendas.
And yes, there are still hacks ingame like warpac and other things they give players advantages.

Unfortunately everything about this game has become total garbage..

I came back to WoT after maybe 10 years but didn't want to use my 'old' account because I wanted to learn the game again w/o messing up my 'old' account. (not that it was any good) I tend to agree with what you're saying. It's not just pay-to-win, it's pay-to-compete. I would play tier III tanks and was going against people using gold rounds. I just got my first tier VII tank and unless you use gold rounds you're just fodder. I haven't resorted to gold rounds yet but now it seems the norm, which = more real money required in the long run. JMO but remove the gold rounds and artillery and you would have one hell of a battle each and every game.

I hit "Ace III" and everything changed instantly, game after game of getting wiped out. Doesn't matter what you do, you're going to die. Down over 1k points with no end in site. Very frustrating.

Ten years ago I played around 5,000 games before I got my first tier6. Now people with less than 700 games are playing tier6-7-8-9-10, that is the problem. The game doesn't force you to learn anything. Noobs playing key tanks and/or key positions ruin about half the games.

Im not impressed the power creep made the game too fast and the players... my god. The games so dangerous, The players so filfthy that you have to watch your back 24/7. As people will abandon you if they can and have the mobilty instead of fighting a 50/50 and winning they will abandon you and relocate so they can farm as much as possible. Thats the 3 mark system and the ratings system.

I would scrap both the 3 mark cheater system and the PR rating and cap gold rounds to 3 per game thats the maximum any one player can use and they are earnable not buyable. And i would be looking to enlarge the maps by about 30% and making it 20v20. 15v15 these days doesnt work right it was ok for the old world of tanks it fit the pre 1.0 era ok but modern wot is totally different.

Modern WOT is about 30% faster everythings been buffed. New crew skills, Tank specialization, Bond Equipment and nearly all tanks recieved buffs during thier lifespan. There hasnt been one single counter fix to this since the game came out of beta not one! Tanks all have the same HP and maps are the same size with max range and spotting the same. The camoflage system has got compltely broken by this its crazy that any tank can be invisible at 300m in the open... crazy camo should be nerfed big time.

You aren't doing anything wrong, there aren't enough new players so the game fills the slots with bots.

They will not believe this is their problem. They complain about all the cheating but are always trying to become the big dogs. They get rolled up and begin looking for who on their team wasn't supportive of them. Sad.

Truthfully, this is a 15 minute, arcade type game with better graphics - not a sim or really a teamwork oriented game. Does teamwork help? Absolutely. But it's still not really an emmersive type of game or a SIM requiring comms and teamwork. Those games aren't much better either as the mass mindset just isn't there anymore.

"Cuts deep, don't it?"

Hardly. You bootlickers are all cut from the same cheap cloth.

Last night i took my tortoise out for a game. Went right flank for heavys and was top tank tier 8-9. And what happens? Well all the tier 8 ran off and started fighting the tier 9 enemy before i get there. Im typing for them to wait for top tank.

Its a 4v4 at the corner im nearly there. Then boom boom boom boom the four melt in no time they all die and now im finally there and all 4 tanks swarm me. What can you do? I defend myself deal 2.5k block 2k and die and lose. That entire flank steamrollers the game and dies.

This isnt even in my power to win unless i base camp. But then why even send any tier 8 at all? Its these moronic tier 8 players with no teamplay. If you dont believe me play arty and study the map you will see how many players rush and die in no time at all its bonkers. Wargaming made this worse by boosting accuracy and dpm we have 5k dpm tanks in the game imagine 5000 damage in 60 seconds with prem ammo? Thats a lot of dead tier 8.

This has been my experience as well. The system pushes players to compete beyond their experience levels, and everyone suffers for it.

What I find extra amusing are things like "Patton the Tank" where everyone gets a free tier VIII tank! WOW! AMAZING!
Except it is worse than a typical tier VIII, and the only people driving them were inexperienced tankers who didn't know any better. ... dopes thinking they were getting a gift, when really it was the experienced players who got the gift of seals to club for a week or two.

LOL Well said and on point. And the seals sure harp loudly!

Post all your crew skills at the highest tier you play and the truth will come out. Some times we just have to be honest with ourselves.
