fwiw - as I run Linux, not Windows, I found installing the WGN Launcher under Lutris to be a breeze... installed Lutris, downloaded the YAML/JSON for WoT, and was playing in minutes.

Issue with Steam Account

Hey, I am pretty new World of Tanks player that started his story in start of 2022, and I created my account via steam - so always after that I have been just playing the game from steam.

For the last 3 days when I am trying to launch my game, instead of getting launcher reading my account / credentials automatically from my steam account - I am forced to make a new account → https://imgur.com/xztvces

At first, I was even worried that maybe my account is removed or anything, but went to WoT site and logged in with my Steam Account there without any problems → https://imgur.com/xxr1rIH

Reads all my ranking data etc... so account is there → https://imgur.com/lO7Nqvq (please ignore weak stats, I am just playing for chill and nothing else)

I just simply cannot play the game.

I already tried to reinstall the game 4 times, I even tried playing on my laptop and same story shows there.

Even more stupid thing? I had no problem playing of Steam Deck but on my desktop? No, I am just not able to log in to the damn game.


Has anyone met the same thing in the past?

I get it. I wish you luck in your quest for resolution. I just wanted to put that info out there for anyone else who might be able to use this 'workaround'...

In my case, I was using Steam as my 'workaround' to play under Linux, but then they broke it :( Oh well, Lutris is my new 'workaround', I guess. (For those wondering, Lutris can integrate your Steam library, EA library, GOG, etc...., so you can still have "one place to play your games".)

tehre is a lot of players having problems in steam not loging in their account (check the discusions) in short: reinstal does not work . verification neither. this is a problen on their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ side and they know it they are just too lazy or are afraid to post a blog on steam page regarding the issue . dont try the customer support as this is a problem lot of players have .... and the support are bunch of clowns .

Какой смысл писать в поддержку? я им писал, а они мне шаблонами отвечают, мол ваш аккаунт не может использоваться в стим. А как он не может работать, когда после обновы с объединением аккаунтов у меня без каких либо проблем зашло в игру, В СТИМЕ. Я им объясняю, кидаю скрины, а они одно и тоже отвечают. Уже давно пора варгеймингу сделать нормальный логин в стим танках со старых аккаунтов, а то самолеты нормально работают без каких-либо проблем, а танки видите ли не разрабатывались как мультиплатформенная игра, кому вы этот бред заливаете...

To play WoT on steam, you need to create a WoT-account through game WoT on steam. If you already have an active account (from WoWs and/or WoWp), and it is linked to steam, then as you can see a result - you will not be able to play WoT and you will need to create a new account.
