As DiceWrapper mentioned, also consider turning off private messages from non-clan/friend members. When I was super new, I got a few toxic private messages from old timers.
Totally.
tier X is immensely frustrating unless you are very, very good.
If you find a tank at tier VI or VII that you like, DO NOT SELL IT.
EVER.
Even years from now, when you are a great player, you'll want to go out, have fun, and just relax. That is what tanks you enjoy are for.
(also, a lot of missions require tier VI or higher, so that's a good level to stick around at)
I find the SA server a lot easy-going. Players that speak up, usually do so to support each other. However, I find NA players come over to the SA server and you can immediately pick them out, by their super toxic behaviour.
Also, the EU servers are very different than the NA and SA servers. I found an old account I hadn't played for 10 years, logged in, played a few games, and wow, most players just know what to do, how to do it, and when to move around the map. ♥♥♥♥-talking is kept to a minimal, and people are generally much more competitive.
Lots of fanboys will probably tell you otherwise but believe me this game is rigged from the start of every battle.
Anyway, if the OP wants to check out Steel Aces, he'll do so, but he made the decision to download WoT first.
