Generally, if you can see through the bush then you are easily spottable, especially after firing. It’s best to roll back until you can’t see through it before you fire.
Commanders vision system helps you see into bushes an enemy might be hiding but it also means you can sit further back in your bush and still spot, ie you can spot through it even if you can’t see through it.
Rule of thumb… don’t fire from a bush if you can see through it and be aware of the likelihood of an enemy having CVS… usually snipey meds like Char Futur. By the time your barrel is poking out the other side it’s probably too late. Other than the Grille (I think that’s the one with the longest barrel, I’ve no idea what it’s camo is like though).
Great advice. I wasn't sure if my gun poking out of a bush would be considered detectable, but I am assuming from your comment that it just basically means my tank is too 'exposed' if my gun is poking out already. Most city maps are just terrible for TDs. For example, I don't even know where to put sniping TDs in the Paris map.
