It can work only in one way. Either make linking possible - with autocreation of acc and move steam storefront subs/"dlcs"* etc to newer acc, or useless linking Steam acc to old Wargaming acc without moving store subscriptions, which is basically same as no linking actually. You cant add Wargaming acc to Steam, technically WG can make you available to add ingame profile link to Steam without real linking between them. Steam has no function to add something to Steam, except Facebook (no more such functions), Sony PSN (no more such function) and YouTube profile (the only remain linking to Steam acc).
I would say this should be a VERY easy fix... to allow for existing account logins. Either way, the authentication process probably still points to the same damn server at the back-end, regardless of which platform is used...
WG doesnt want to allow link old accounts to steam. Its about money. Simple.
Same issue.
I guess I wont be playing WoT either then. Shame.
