You will not be able to use your existing account to log into World of Tanks via Steam. Initially, we never assumed that access to our game could be multi-platform and, to our great regret, we will not be able to provide access to existing accounts via Steam.
Maybe this will be possible in future updates, but there is no 100% guarantee.
I can suggest that you continue to play through WGC with old account and just wait and believe that synchronization will be added in future.
Well will it be added in the future? You have seen the feedback now, literally everywhere, flooding even in reviews which may not be fair, but still.. I hope you add it in the future.
To start you need to unlink your steam account. After starting the game a new account will be created. This is because old accounts cannot be used to play in steam.
True, and for now it's probably the best way to do it. Pretty lame that you can't just change the start logic to make use of a normal login page. Look you got it setup fine with your other games
Why waste resources gobbling up 5% of your cpu to run two launchers? This is bad and lazy and throwing away performance. You do this, Run some AV software and maybe Discord and Windows 11 and you got a fairly bloated pc already without multiple launchers.
