Gold Ammo and Matchmaking

Have to say this game useless unless your use gold, matchmaking is still ♥♥♥♥, 14 games today all end 15-1 / 15-0 / 15-03, this is not fun, in T26E4 I went from 78% win rate to 33% in two hours, this game is not free to play, but free to lose, or pay money and win, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game

Hey DJ,
I can understand that sometimes the battles can get frustrating. The T26E4 Superpershing is an okay all-rounder with preferential match-making.

Your win rate will vary a lot, especially if you are just starting the game. I wouldn't give it much more attention now. Learning the game core mechanics and enjoying the game are much more important :)

With that said, Shooting special rounds or playing a premium tank does not guarantee a win. You still need to know where to aim on vehicles weak spots and how to cover yours.

Well, that's armor meta in present day WoT for you. As in there isn't one. People just switch to HEAT / APDS and still get guaranteed pens. I'd say it's actually not because there is "gold ammo" but rather because they've made it available to everyone for silver.

In the earlier days this ammo was reserved almost exclusively for high stakes situations like clan battles. Now everyone is using it and I assure you a vast majority of players doesn't buy it with gold. It's just not practical or worthwhile. Although many probably get excessive amounts of silver with the held of some paid features.

People call it gold ammo. Why? Because at one point it was only bought with gold, the icon is often gold, in several of the types of UI the hits from it are labeled in gold, and it's better in almost every way from standard ammo.

What is sad is when a T8 tank has to spam gold just to hit 180 pen. Substandard for any ammo at that tier.

clearly you've never used the 25tp stock. A gun that was above-average at t2, at t5, uptiered to t7, on an otherwise good tank.

regardless it's better ammo. It's not standard. And premium caries a prestige that many players don't give it. And the people who called it gold ammo were the old guard so the lingo sticks.

Special ammo also rigs gun choices because there are lots of guns that have great stats but poor penetration......So just dab the 2 key and the gun is amazing in EVERY way. There should be strategy when choosing guns and vehicles but the special ammo really cheapens those choices.

Been playing since beta on and off. I was once I was a strong vocal believer that gold ammo should be taken out of the game but my voice like many tens of thousands of others have been ignored.

What is a fella to do ? boycott the game, not spend money with WG, stop playing ? has I and thousands of others are not willing to do any of these things...... So here we are, stuck with gold/premium ammo. These days, I just go with the flow. I load some gold ammo up just in case.

But then again, WoT is a dying game nowadays, Wargaming made sure to kill their playerbase with each new Update a bit more.

Boycotting a game you enjoy and love is out of the question, im not going to limit my own enjoyment for a game just because of something I don't like in that game. I don't like loot boxes boxes in CSGO, but im clearly not going to boycott steam over them.

This is how all publishers and developers alike have pushed though soo much crap in gaming because "WE" gamers won't make a stand. I be the first too admit it.

Leaving negative feedback is stupid unless it's has substance and you write it in a way were it's constructive to the point. Putting 'Greedy devs', or 'game is crap' or 'it's pay to win' etc get you noway. These type of comments are useless backed with the fact the people writing them are still playing the game, makes it more useless.

As for a dying game. The player count has remained static for years hovering around 100k a day concurrent players on the EU server. On the russian server its triple the figure. But the US and asia servers do have a low player count for what ever reason. It's far from dying, old players leave, new players join, old players come back... this is how it seems to be.

But you stand 100% correct in saying, force the change by not giving them money. Sadly this is a line gamer's the world over are not willing too do. Not only with WOT but every game out there.

Even with a premium account you can't fire too many shells of gold rounds because of the sheer cost. Plus it is better in every way. It is simple, two players of equal skill, one is f2p and hence can fire, lets say, 5 shells at the MOST and he barely breaks even. The other player, equal skill, bought gold and then bought credits. He spams gold and hence, wins. If you don't call that P2W than you don't know the definition

World of Tanks Blitz has 1 million players on per day (all servers) when you're barely beating your mobile counterpart in player count, something is wrong
